Gilbert paused, realizing the truth in his brother's words.
"But, big bro."
Gilbert gestured towards the neighboring house, "Don't forget, Rebecca is married!"
"Married? Ha."
Francis scoffed, "Her husband might as well not exist."
It wasn't like him to covet another man's wife, but Eddy was such a disaster that Francis couldn't help but feel drawn to Rebecca. After all, meddling in someone else's marriage wasn't exactly honorable.
Francis said, "Once the Christmas rolls around and Rebecca has her surgery to fix her eyesight, we'll handle her divorce from Eddy."
Gilbert realized his brother had everything planned out. Yet, he couldn't help but ask in a low voice, pointing next door, "Big bro, are you sure Rebecca is on board with this?"
"Huh?" Francis looked puzzled, "Why wouldn't she be?"
Getting away from Eddy, a notorious cheater and abuser, and reconnecting with her son James - wasn't that the best outcome for her?

Leaving the Southern District Sanatorium, Gilbert headed to his office.
On his way, he noticed no one seemed to be following him, which was odd considering Naylor's relentless nature.
At the office, after checking his schedule, which wasn't too packed, he figured he could make time to pick up Sherilyn from the set.
As expected, he wrapped up his work before five.
Grabbing his car keys and jacket, Gilbert was about to leave when his phone rang - an international number flashed on the screen.
Raising an eyebrow, he answered, "Hello? Who's this?"
"Good day, is this Mr. Gilbert Johnson? This is the Swiss Embassy calling."
Switzerland? Caroline was in Switzerland!
"This is he," Gilbert's voice tensed instantly. "What's happened?"
"A Ms. Caroline mentioned you. She's run into some trouble here and sought our help. She provided your number."
Gilbert's concern deepened, "What kind of trouble?"
