Sylvia's knees buckled, and she was on the verge of collapsing!
"Grandma!"
"Grandma!"
This move startled Sherilyn, as well as Francis and Caroline!
Sherilyn quickly reached out, caught her, tears welling up in her eyes, shaking her head as she spoke, "Grandma, please don't do this! You raised me! I'll go, I will!"
How could she bear to see her grandmother like this?
"Sherilyn!" Sylvia, desperate, exclaimed, "My dear, thank you!"
Sherilyn glanced back at Rebecca, "Grandma, I'm going to take my friend upstairs first. She's blind and needs some extra help."
"Oh?"
Sylvia looked over at Rebecca, noting, "She seems like a fine and bright young woman… Go ahead. I'll wait for you."
"Alright."
Sherilyn let go and walked over to Rebecca, linking arms with her, "Rebecca, let's head up."
"Sure."
Rebecca 'looked' toward Sylvia, "Mrs. Johnson, I apologize for the inconvenience."
"Not at all."
Watching their retreating figures, Sylvia sighed softly, "Such a polite girl, it's a shame…"
So young, and blind.
Francis remained silent, saying nothing.
Meanwhile, Caroline was visibly shocked. She had sensed something was off with Rebecca.
Blind? She was blind?
Ha!
Caroline sneered inwardly. Had Francis lost his mind? To be interested in a blind girl? Why? Just because she had given birth to James?
...
Sherilyn assisted Rebecca into the elevator.
"Sherilyn."
