Ms. Gomez?
Sherilyn froze in place, recognition dawning on her - he knew who she was! This was a targeted abduction?
"Who are you?"
She couldn't think of anyone who would hold a grudge against her, unless it was the Martins again?
"Did the Martin family send you? Yuna Martin or Malvina?"
The driver shook his head, "I don't know the people you're talking about."
"Then who sent you?" Sherilyn's mind was a blank slate, "What do you want?"
"Relax."
He glanced over at her, "I won't hurt you. I just need to borrow you for a bit. Once our boss meets Mr. Gilbert, you'll be safe."
Mr. Gilbert? Gilbert.
It was because of him!
Sherilyn clenched her fists, her body shaking in tiny, frightened trembles.
She suddenly remembered, Gilbert's accidents, and Caroline's mishap in Switzerland. He had said it was his involvement...
So, was this person also sent by his enemy?
...
Twilight Bay.
Gilbert had just wrapped up some business and was on his way back to Sunhaven.
He was dialing Sherilyn's number, but after two attempts without an answer, he assumed she was probably filming.
He decided to stop calling. He'd just go pick her up from the set once he got to Sunhaven.
Just as he put down his phone, it rang again.
Gilbert, hoping it was Sherilyn, picked up immediately only to see an unknown number.
Who could it be?
His phone was set to block unsolicited calls, so this was unusual.
Sliding to answer, he said, "Hello?"
From the other end, a deep, slightly aged voice came through, "Nine."
Gilbert froze, his pupils dilating and his skin crawling, yet his voice dripped with disdain, "Who's this? Wrong number, maybe?"
