"Heh, heh..."
After listening to the nurse, Sherilyn couldn't help but snicker, "Looks like she's got a death wish."
"Sherilyn..."
Gilbert suddenly turned to her, his breathing momentarily heavy.
"What are you looking at me for?" Sherilyn lifted an eyelid, her tone ice-cold, "Maybe you should look at her instead. She's the one knocking on death's door."
From the windowsill, Caroline turned at the noise.
She caught Gilbert's gaze and tears immediately cascaded down her cheeks, "Why are you here? Thought you didn't care about me anymore?"
"Caroline..."
Gilbert tensed up, taking cautious steps towards her, "You've got it all wrong. I do care... Just come down from there, and we can talk this through, okay?"
"No! Don't come any closer!"
She screamed shrilly as he approached.
"You're lying! You've always been lying!"

Sobbing, she shook her head vehemently.
"Francis left me for Rebecca White, and you, you're leaving me for Sherilyn..."
Suddenly, she glared at Gilbert, raising her voice.
"Gilbert, I became like this because of you, and now even you don't want me... I'm just a burden... I don't want to live anymore!"
"Then go ahead and die!"
Sherilyn's clear voice rang out as she stepped forward, confronting Caroline.
"What?" Caroline blinked, dumbfounded, "What did you say?"
"Hmph."
Sherilyn smirked coldly, "You said you didn't want to live, right? Then die!"
"Sherilyn!"
Gilbert extended his arm to hold her back, his brows furrowed in a reprimand, "Don’t..."
