"What's up?" Francis raised an eyebrow.
"I want my sister to be my tutor."
Francis paused for a moment.
After the last scare when James went 'missing,' Sylvia fell sick with worry, and subsequently, the previous tutor, Mr. Yang, was let go. Since then, finding a tutor became a top priority for Francis, especially one that James liked. So far, no luck.
Francis let out a sigh, his brows furrowing, "You really like her that much?"
"Yeah." James nodded vigorously.
"Oh?" Francis was puzzled, "Why?"
Could this be the mysterious bond of blood relations? Some sort of familial intuition?
"Because…"
A profound expression appeared on James's youthful face, uncharacteristic for his age, "She doesn't look at Dad like the other teachers do."
His teachers, including Mr. Yang and the ones at school, seemed glued to his dad whenever they saw him. James added, "She doesn't like Dad!"
Francis's face darkened, his lips twitching slightly, "We'll see!"
"Why?" James frowned, getting anxious, "Didn't you say we had to find someone I like?"
"You like her?"
Having just been indirectly insulted by his son, Francis felt no need to spare his feelings. "She might not necessarily like you."
"What?" James was shocked, "How come? She's really nice to me, I think she likes me!"
"Kid, you're so naive!"
Francis scoffed, "Her being nice to you is just politeness. What she really thinks, now that's a different story."
James looked stunned and hurt.
"Alright…"
Seeing his son's dejected look, Francis softened, "I'll ask her, but don't get your hopes up too high."
