"Thank you for waiting, dear guest~"
A few minutes later, the female demon arrived at the private room Kira had selected. She was dressed even more provocatively than at the entrance, deliberately swaying her hips as she walked, her black tail flicking back and forth.
It had to be said that the room’s decor was quite exquisite, filled with a faint exotic fragrance. In the center was a large, soft couch, surrounded by thin veils and a delicate table set with all sorts of unknown demon realm snacks.
"I need to ask two questions first," Kira gestured for the demon to stop.
She blinked and gave a flattering smile. "With such a generous guest, you can ask anything, not just two questions. I promise I’ll tell you everything I know."
Although he appeared generous, it wasn’t Kira’s own money; after all, he didn’t have demon currency. It was all the warden’s money. Before leaving the bunker, he’d swiped a handful of bills from the warden. He didn’t recognize demon currency or know the exact amount, but seeing the demon girl’s look—like she was paying respects to her father—he figured it was a lot.
"Who is the guest in the room directly above this one?" Kira asked.
"Eh?"
The demon girl froze, apparently not expecting that question.
She hesitated, then shook her head. "I don’t know."
"You don’t know, or you don’t want to say?"
She gave an awkward smile. "You know the rules here, guest. All guest information is secret; each room is completely independent. We promise that whatever happens in any room stays in that room. We’d never leak your information either, right?"
"Fair enough," Kira nodded thoughtfully. "So each room here is completely independent? Only one guest per room?"
"Of course."
She proudly patted her chest—causing it to wobble.
"Got it." Kira nodded.
The demon blinked again. "Then, can we get started?"
"What? Oh, sure. It might hurt a bit, so bear with it."
The demon immediately giggled.
"Heh, I’ve heard that line before. But don’t worry, I may look delicate, but I’m pretty sturdy. I can handle it."
"Good." Kira nodded, then looked behind her. "Do it."
"Eh?"
The demon spun around instinctively—only to see the Silent Magician had somehow appeared behind her, expressionless, and brought her staff crashing down on the demon’s head.
Bang!
The demon’s vision went dark; she collapsed, instantly knocked out.
Silent Magician retracted her staff, silently returning to Kira’s side.
Was it his imagination, or did the Silent Magician—though she didn’t speak or show emotion—have a look in her eyes suggesting:
"I’ve had enough of you."
Kira ignored the unconscious demon on the floor and asked, "Are you sure it’s right above us?"
"That’s right," BLS replied. "We’re close enough that I can be sure."
"Alright."
He stepped through the window onto a stone balcony outside. Silent Magician joined him, and together they leaped up to the platform outside the upper floor’s window.
Kira crouched outside, quietly observing instead of barging in.
Inside, a voice called out, "Divine Messenger, you are so powerful~"
Then a gruff male voice: "Don’t call me that. I’m inspecting incognito this time—only you know, and you must not leak it."
