Brian glanced up, his gaze landing on her with a soft murmur, “Awake?” 

Natalie, groggy with sleep, her limbs heavy and sore, slumped in the chair and met his eyes briefly without a word. 

Brian squatted before her, slipping off her shoes and tossing them aside, his fingers leisurely unbuttoning her shirt. 

“What the hell are you doing?” Natalie couldn’t help but frown in irritation. 

“What am I doing?” Brian chuckled, retorting, “Didn’t you say you wanted to sleep? What’s wrong with bringing you to a hotel?” 

Natalie was speechless. 

After conquering her battle with shyness, Natalie was sharp–tongued and quick–witted in the company of others, never losing an argument. But faced with Brian’s biting wit, she often felt outmatched. 

She wasn’t as thick–skinned or quick–thinking as he was. 

Getting into his car, Natalie had intended to refuse to sign the document he’d presented, not to get herself into this situation. 

Whether she’d be alive to show up on the movie set the next day was a concern if she spent the night with Brian. 

She couldn’t help but sigh. “Can you just let me go?” 

“What do you think?” Brian’s eyes crinkled with challenge. 

Natalie paused, pouting. “It’s that time of the month.” 

“You think I don’t know about a woman’s monthly cycle?” Brian retorted. 

Natalie’s cycle was due on the 25th of the previous month, and it was currently only 

the 20th of this month. 

Besides, Brian had bought her necessities when she had her first period at fifteen. He knew her body better than she did. 

Natalie had hoped to claim she was wearing a liner to trick him into thinking her period had started. 

“Brian, I’ve been exhausted these past few days!” she protested with a stern face.

After a few seconds, she remembered Madelyn’s message and began, “I think with your spare time, you’d be better off looking for…” 

Natalie froze, her face filled with shock as she stared wide–eyed at Brian, 

“I’ve told you not to mention other women’s names to my face,” Brian said, his brow furrowed with a stern voice. 

Without punishment, she wouldn’t learn. 

“Brian, I’m twenty–two years old!” Natalie’s voice quivered with anger, a flush spreading across her body. 

When she was a child, Brian could spank her as punishment, but she was grown up, and he still dared to do that to her! 

No matter how old Natalie got, she was the little mute who never grew up in Brian’s eyes, always bumbling behind him and needing him to clean up her messes. During her bouts of shyness, she only wanted him, worshipping him as if he were her everything. 

So, even as she grew up, he wouldn’t allow her to change. He couldn’t accept her looking at other men. 

Brian got to his feet and swept her up into his arms. 

“Let me go!” Natalie’s voice spiked with a sudden surge of defiance, feeling her dignity trampled once more. 

For a moment. Natalie gave up struggling. 

Brian carried her to an adjacent hot spring room and unceremoniously dropped her into the steaming water.
