Chapter 2780 The sun rose into the sky from the east and woke up the earth. It was a brand new day. Denise woke up and looked at the ceiling when she opened her eyes. Everything that happened yesterday appeared right before her eyes like a movie. At that moment, someone knocked on her door.
Along with that came her mother‘s kind, tender votce. “Denise, are you awake? The first time we did after we woke up was to get you brother to bring you home. He told us you came back last night. How are you today?”
She had mixed feelings as she listened to her mother‘s soft and gentle voice. She could not help but remember the recording she heard from Luna and Gwen‘s hotel room.
They literally said to let her die. They said she was no longer useful to the family and that she was a disposable pawn. They even said they wanted to use her to beg for mercy with Joshua and Thomas and begged them not to stop the cooperation.
It was at this moment that she felt the dam breaking inside of her. She covered her mouth to stifle her sobs as tears formed.
Outside the door, her mother was still continuing to talk. Back in the past, she would often feel safe and happy to hear that voice. However, it became so unfamiliar and so fake.
She bit her lips and closed her eyes. This time, she swore that she would not be soft–hearted and would show no mercy. She wanted to seek justice for herself and do one last thing for her brother–the right thing! “Denise?” Since there was no response from the room, Mrs. Hughes mumbled, “She hasn‘t woken up? That can‘t be… Her biological clock has always been very routine since she was a child.”
As she mumbled to herself, Mrs. Hughes left the place. When she was sure her mother had left, she pulled the blanket over her body and wept quietly.
For the 20 years living in the family, she had always thought she was the real young miss of the family and she was proud of her identity. She always bragged to the others that she had a kind and understanding mother, an upright father, and a gentle brother. All of them treated her like a princess and loved her.
This ended yesterday. After the recording, she finally knew the only person who treated her as a family was Steven. The others only thought of her as a pawn.

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
