Chapter 2838
“Did anything happen to Denise?” said Gwen hurriedly, expressing her concern with a frown as soon as Steven hung up the phone.
True, both she and Luna hated Denise because of what she did to Yannie, but her opinion toward Denise changed after they eavesdropped on the Hughes family’s conversation and the things Denise did yesterday. She found herself thinking, from then on, that Denise was not entirely a terrible person. After all, she did receive help from Denise.
If it were not for Denise, she would not have gotten the evidence of how the Hughes family and the Miller family colluded to trick Luke, not even if she had help from Joshua or Thomas.
Therefore, she expressed concern after hearing Denise was in trouble from the phone call Steven was on.
Steven closed his eyes and smiled bitterly. “She knew what she did was wrong. I thought she’d still be
I stubborn like before, but she probably knew an apology won’t be enough to redeem herself. When Thomas requested a very absurd request for her to atone for her sin, she agreed to it right away.”
His heart ached as he recalled the things Eva said with a broken heart.
To others, Denise might seem to be a bad person; a despicable woman who would do anything to achieve her purpose and to get Thomas. Nonetheless, that was not the Denise Steven thought. He grew up with her and knew her truest heart.
He also knew… how his parents slowly brainwashed Denise from a kind young girl with her own thoughts into a girl who listened to their parents; becoming solely a tool for them to use for an arranged marriage.
Before the accident that rendered him comatose, he reminded Denise that she should live for herself and not the way their parents wanted them to. It was not wrong to be selfish. At that time, she was proud like a peacock but said the most self–abasement comment.
“Our parents are the ones who gave me my life. Without them, I won’t be the person I am today. I’ll like anything that they want me to, and I’ll do anything that they ask.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
