Alice’s voice sounded gentle and light, yet it seemed to have petrified Celeste.
Celeste shuddered and said with a rather trembling voice, “Mrs. Lynch, w—what are you saying?“
Alice’s response was laced with vague ridicule, “Mrs. Allen, don’t you understand? Let me tell you once more, then: I ‘ll never, and had never, once gossiped about Luna with you. Even if I hate Luna, I won’t spread such stupid rumors. There. I’ve said it.“
Alice, on the other end of the call, leaned back on the chair. She calmly glanced at Jason, who was looking at the address outside the door, and chuckled.
“Also, my husband and I are in a very good relationship. Why are you trying to disgrace me in front of my husband? Are you just jealous?“
Alice did not even care what reaction Celeste had after that as she immediately hung up the phone.
Hearing the disconnecting beep from the phone, Celeste’s legs felt like jelly. Right before she slumped to the ground, Samson immediately held onto her.
“Mrs. Allen, what are you doing? Are you really planning on kneeling to our Director Luna?“
Celeste closed her eyes. She never once suspected the words that Alice told her because, firstly, Alice and Luna have known each other for many years. Second, Alice had also mentioned Joshua among the men Luna has slept with. Celeste felt that Alice had no reason to cuckold herself.
However…
Alice’s innocent and indifferent tone on the phone a moment ago was like a baseball bat that smashed against her head. Celeste felt as if she was struck by lightning. She could not even move, let alone think.
How could that happen…?
Even if those were lies, they came from Alice! How did it become her spreading the rumors instead?
“Mrs. Allen, what else do you have to say for yourself?“
Joshua looked at Celeste’s face, his gaze cold as he did. “You were the one that came up with this and smeared Luna’s character. You even pushed all the blame on my wife. It looks like Luna was right. It’s not that you are brainless, Mrs. Allen. You just used them in all the wrong places.“
Celeste opened her mouth, wanting to retort but unable to find her words.

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
