The child, who was being kept in the room beside, started wailing when she heard her mother's voice. "Mommy! Mommy!"
Charles went to the room and picked up his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. "Mia, I'm your daddy."
Mia didn't really know how to speak yet. She struggled and could only call out repeatedly, "Mommy, Mommy!"
Charles didn't know how to calm her down. He frowned and asked his secretary, "Have you found two nannies yet? I need them to be experienced."
The secretary replied, "Yes, sir. They're already waiting at the villa."
Charles carried Mia out of the cheap hotel. His love for the child was growing every second.
"She really looks like me," he murmured.
After she instructed the nannies to take care of Mia, Charles took a taxi back to the hotel and went into the room.
Emmie had been forced by two staff members to take a bath and change into pajamas. She was also being locked up in the room.
The moment Charles entered the room, Emmie stood up. "Where's Mia?"
Charles was sick of the same question. He hung his coat on the coat hanger and replied, "Mia is my daughter. Why should I give her back to you?"
Emmie retorted, "I gave birth to her!"
Charles smirked. "Could you have given birth without me?"
Emmie felt speechless. She almost forgot how much of a rascal he was.
She took a deep breath and calmed down. Then, she said slowly, "I carried her for nine months, gave birth to her, and raised her for a year and a half. You have no right to take her away! Charles, give her back to me now. Otherwise, I'll sue you! The judge will give me her custody!"
"Really?" Charles was unfazed by her threat.
Emmie raised her voice. "Of course! The court favors the mother, especially before the child turns three!"
Charles removed his watch and placed it on the table. He loosened his tie before turning around and walking toward her.
"You've hidden my child for two years. It seems like you've spent time studying. You know the law quite well," he remarked.
Emmie clenched her fists, trying to reason with him. "You have your choice of women. Anyone can give birth to your child as long as you want one. Please, give Mia back to me. I promise to stay away from you forever. I'll take her somewhere far away."
Charles smirked. "They're not as amazing as you. Even with my precautions, you managed to get pregnant. Quite a feat. Perhaps you could demonstrate how you got pregnant again tonight?"
Emmie realized what he wanted to do and tried to flee, but Charles grabbed her hand. He threw her onto the bed and laid on top of her.
Emmie was terrified and tried to push him away with all her might. "Charles, let me go!"
