Emelie didn't bother responding. She wasn't in the mood to waste her energy arguing with William.

Instead, she took her hand out of her coat pocket and glanced at her watch—4:20 pm. She chuckled softly.

"Well, isn’t that just double trouble? What a great omen," she thought to herself.

Then, she said, "Elias really got under Beathan's skin with his words. I've said before that Beathan is a person with a high sense of self-esteem. The higher the self-esteem, the more sensitive you are.

"Elias poked right where it hurts. You saw how bad his expression was . He's about to lose it. Things are only going to get more interesting from here."

William watched as Emelie calmly weighed and assessed the situation. A slight smile formed on his lips. "Indeed."

That night, in his riverside house, Beathan repeatedly called Ashley.
