Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 386

“Ah! Sorry!”

She quickly turned around and covered her eyes. Her heart was racing against her chest.

What did I just see? Mr. Jenson is the renowned head of the Jenson family in Salinsburgh and he is a cold and ruthless person who rarely smiles. But he actually let Ms. Harris pinch his butt obediently?

Gwendolyn heard the commotion from the couch, and her face flushed crimson. She tried to stand up, but Cedrick pulled her into his embrace.

He smiled devilishly and accused her in his deep voice, “Someone saw you bullying me. What should we do about it, Gwenny?”

I can’t believe he’s framing me! This b*stard!

Gwendolyn’s expression darkened, and she clenched her jaw. “How about you bark a few times for me?”

“No!”

Cedrick furrowed his brows, then leaned in as though there was no one else around and kissed her lips.

Joanne stood at the door anxiously.

Will I get fired tomorrow for seeing their intimate moment?

“I-I really didn’t see anything! I won’t disturb you guys. Please continue!”

She closed the door behind her, leaving the atmosphere thick with romantic tension.

Gwendolyn noticed Cedrick’s breathing became heavier and pushed him away quickly.

She tried to adjust her breathing. “Caesar is still waiting for us. Let’s go and eat.”

“Okay.”

He immediately rolled over and stood up. Then, he squatted on the carpet next to the couch and gently helped her wear her socks.

Spring was approaching, but the weather was still cold.

As Gwendolyn had gone to sign a contract, Cedrick was alone in the office in the afternoon. Therefore, he didn’t turn on the heater, so Gwendolyn’s feet were slightly cold.

He immediately unbuttoned his suit jacket and embraced her cold feet, wrapping his jacket tightly around them to provide warmth.

Gwendolyn watched him quietly, imprinting his handsome facial features into her heart.

When her feet became warmer, he picked up Gwendolyn’s flats and put them on for her.

Then, he held her hand with their fingers interlaced, saying in a gentle voice, “Let’s go.”

Gwendolyn didn’t move and stared at him. “Ceddy, how long will you spoil me like this?”

Cedrick’s fingers brushed past her face softly. He replied in a serious tone, “Forever. No one will be able to take away a single bit of love I have for you.”

“But, what if we have a daughter? People always say that fathers would spoil their daughters. Won’t you be like that too?”

Cedrick looked at her resolutely. “No. Your daughter will have her own life, but you’re my only one. You’re my entire life,” he replied in his magnetic voice. Then, he carried her in his arms and left the room.

Caesar, who was waiting for them outside the corridor, froze momentarily when he saw Cedrick carrying Gwendolyn.

Cedrick took no notice and stepped into the elevator. He turned to see Caesar rooted to his spot and arched his brow. “Aren’t you coming?”

“Yes, I’m coming.” Caesar regained his senses and immediately followed them.

The food tasted like wax in his mouth throughout the meal.

He sat opposite Cedrick, who treated him like a third-wheeler. Cedrick would feed Gwendolyn food with a gentle and loving expression, making her feel slightly embarrassed.

When Cedrick was about to feed her the seventh bite, Gwendolyn pushed his hand away and whispered, “No, I’ll eat by myself.”

Cedrick failed to feed her, so he retracted his hand. He fed himself and slowly savored it.

Caesar watched their lovey-dovey actions and raised his glass to toast Cedrick. “Mr. Jenson, it was my fault for not considering the matter thoroughly. Here’s a toast for you as an apology!”
