Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 391

Cedrick thought of something and ordered Nico, “Contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Tell them to apprehend Pablo immediately. I want to interrogate him myself.”

“Eh?” Nico was puzzled. “Among the three of them, Pablo hasn’t done anything outlandish.”

“I want Pablo captured. I won’t repeat myself again,” insisted Cedrick. They all thought these were photos of a bed. The current assumption was that someone brought Joaquin out of the bar and carried him to a nearby hotel. Then, that person called a few beautiful women to the hotel room to take a few photos. However, there isn’t actually a complete bed in the photos. All we can see are white pillows and a quilt cover. It’s unsurprising we all thought these were photos of a bed at first glance.

He lowered his sight, glancing at Gwendolyn in his embrace. Whenever he had an idea, he would choose to tell her first. “Those photos on the internet aren’t depicting a bed. They were taken in the bar’s private room, Gwenny. When I checked the surveillance footage earlier, I noticed people started leaving the room at two in the morning. Meanwhile, Pablo left nonchalantly after half past seven in the morning. I think he took the pictures during that missing half hour.”

Upon hearing the analysis, Joaquin exploded in anger. “I can’t believe it was Pablo! He’s usually polite and reasonable. Heck, he even performed a good deed in front of us one time. To think he’s capable of such evil! I want him captured as soon as possible so I can flay him alive!”

Gwendolyn shook her head resignedly with a grin as she watched Joaquin lose his temper and yell like a madman. “I suggest you think of how to explain the situation to Old Mr. Zipper first. There’s no doubt he’s still angry after you turn off your phone since he can’t reach you. If you can’t quell his rage, you’d better get ready to be beaten to death.”

In response, Joaquin shuddered in fear. I can still vividly feel the pain that the belt left on me! Only death awaits me if I return to the Zipper residence!

He approached Cedrick and Gwendolyn, pleading, “You have to help me, Gwendolyn! It’s the end for me if I return home! If that happens, you’ll never be able to see such a cute, docile, and handsome young man like me again! Moreover, I won’t be able to help you earn more money!”

Cedrick glared at the whining Joaquin coldly and said grimly, “She has me, so she doesn’t need a troublesome dog like you around. You signed a contract, and if you can’t bring profits to the company, you’re better off dead.”

Joaquin pouted and turned to Gwendolyn, complaining, “Look at how mean he is, Gwendolyn! Can’t you do something about it?”

Stifling a giggle, Gwendolyn teased, “I don’t know if you’re cute, but you do resemble a dog, and you are quite troublesome.”

Joaquin was at a loss for words.

Seeing the bitter expression he was wearing, she hastily clarified, “I was just joking with you. Don’t worry. I’ll think of a way to help you handle Old Mr. Zipper.”

The moment she ended her sentence, Cedrick carried her back into the car. Joaquin immediately followed them.

Nico needed time to apprehend Pablo, so the trio decided to wait in the vehicle.

While they were waiting, Cedrick bought some fresh fruits and sliced them before feeding Gwendolyn, who was sitting in the passenger’s seat.

Joaquin leaned forward, his head hovering between the driver’s and passenger’s seats. “The fruit looks fresh, Mr. Jenson. I’m thirsty, too. This’ll help me—”

Joaquin reached out to grab the fruit slices, but Cedrick swiftly smacked the back of the former’s hand without warning and glowered at him. “This is Gwenny’s. Go buy your own if you want some.”

Joaquin puffed his cheeks and grumbled in an undertone.

Meanwhile, Cedrick ignored the sullen Joaquin and focused wholly on feeding Gwendolyn fruits.

He delivered a juicy strawberry to Gwendolyn, which she ate two-thirds of with a single bite. “Is it delicious, Gwenny?” he asked.

“Yes,” said Gwendolyn, her mouth stuffed. She was adorably quiet, which was rare.

Staring at the remaining chunk of strawberry in his hand, Cedrick tossed it into his mouth to taste it.

Gwendolyn arched her eyebrow while peering at him. “I’ve bitten off part of that strawberry. Do you like it?”

Their eyes met, and though Cedrick wasn’t saying anything, the look in his eyes indicated that he loved the strawberry, which was exceptionally sweet.
