Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 440

Percy’s expression froze, and he explained in a panic, “No way! You and I are engaged. Why would I do something as unnecessary as that? Besides, the red wine’s prepared by the restaurant.”

Inez narrowed her eyes. “It better be.”

She twirled the glass and was about to drink it when the door to the private room suddenly opened.

A warm, large hand snatched her wineglass away.

Perplexed, Inez raised her head and saw Kieran. “What are you doing here?”

Kieran placed the wineglass below his nose and sniffed while glancing at Percy.

Percy gulped and tried to act tough. “Who are you? You’ve barged into my private room! Please leave!”

He stood up and tried to snatch the glass from Kieran.

Kieran stepped back and coldly splashed the wine on Percy’s face without saying a word.

Percy ceased his movements. He pursed his lips as drops of red wine steamed down.

Upon registering what he had just done, he immediately spat the wine out and wiped his lips clean.

Inez rested her chin on one hand while holding back her laughter, staring at the two men as though she had nothing to do with what was going on.

Kieran was usually composed, but, at that moment, he was furious.

He hurled the wineglass at the wall, smashing it into pieces. “You’re an animal! How dare you try to drug your fiancée!”

Percy was dumbfounded for a few seconds.

As he was shorter than Kieran, he had to lift his head to meet the latter’s eyes. He wiped his glasses clean and roared, “Do you have any proof to support your accusation? I can sue you for slander! Also, this is my territory! I’m going to make you apologize to me and have the security guards throw you out!”

After he put his glasses back on, he called the manager on the phone.

“It’s Percy! Someone’s causing trouble in my private room! Please bring security guards over, or I’ll file a complaint about you all!” Once he ended the call, he looked at Kieran arrogantly. “Don’t think you’re hot stuff just because you’re handsome, punk. Since you’re a friend of Inez, I’ll request only an apology from you. I won’t even ask you to compensate for the smashed wineglass.”

Inez, who was sitting silently at the side, covered her mouth to hold back her laughter. I’ve known Kieran for over a year, and I’ve never seen anyone successfully make him apologize.

Casually, she tossed two peanuts into her mouth. Hmm, this goes well with watching a show.

Kieran glanced at her before hissing frigidly at Percy again, “You have some nerve to act arrogantly even though you don’t know who I am. When the manager arrives, you’re the one getting kicked out.”

Once again, Percy was stunned. Kieran was poised and possessed an intimidating, icy aura. He isn’t a distinguished figure, is he?

Slightly afraid, he turned to Inez, who was still eating peanuts. “Who is he, Inez?”

After contemplating her answer briefly, she answered casually, “A doctor.”

“Is he really just a doctor?”

“Mm-hmm.”

Percy arched a brow and asked, “What’s your relationship with him? Are you close to him?”

Inez paused.

Kieran also waited for her answer quietly.
