Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 825

Chapter 825 Teaching Her To Create A Proposal

By the time Whitney returned to the Newton residence from work, Charles had already arrived, sitting on the sofa and discussing matters related to the Newton Group with the family.

Seeing her return, Jasmine took the initiative to approach her. “Whitney, why didn’t your come back with Charles today?”

All

eyes from the Newton family turned toward her in unison.

Whitney glanced at Charles, walked over to his side, and said with a smile, “I Kot held up today after work chatting with Ms. Zeller. Charles has been so busy lately, and as his wife, how could I not worry about him? So, I asked him to come home first.”

As she spoke, Charles casually placed her hand in his own with languid ease.

“Of course my wife cares about me. You guys carry on with your chat. My wife and I need to go upstairs to discuss some matters.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Charles took her hand and led her upstairs. The rest of the Newton family couldn’t help but chuckle, teasing them a bit under their breath.

Even when they arrived at the turn of the staircase, Charles showed no signs of letting go of her.

Feeling the warmth of his palm, Whitney couldn’t help but break out in sweat.

Upon entering the study, Charles switched on his computer, his voice indifferent as he said, “I’ve seen the proposal you submitted. It’s too naive.”

Naïve…

The destructive power of the word was immense for Whitney. She had poured so much effort into the new version, yet it still failed to catch his eye.

“I’m sorry…” Whitney replied softly.

Charles glanced over at her, and she didn’t dare to say anything more.

“You don’t know how to do it, yet you don’t know how to ask too?”

With a swift motion of his hands, he tapped a few keys on the keyboard, and several documents popped up on the computer screen. They were titled: XX Project Plan, XX Management Plan, and XX Summary.

Every document ended with Charles’s personal signature.

This is… the previous planning proposal of Newton Group! These are all secrets of the Newton Group. Why is he pulling out these documents now?

Whitney was completely bewildered. The next second, Charles said, “Take a good look at. these documents. If there’s anything you don’t understand, ask me.”

While speaking, Charles gently pressed down on Whitney’s shoulder, guiding her to sit in front of the computer. He then settled himself on the small sofa opposite her, engrossed in his phone.

Looking at the documents in front of her, Whitney was taken aback.

Is he trying to teach me how to create a proposal? If I didn’t misunderstand him, that’s what he meant. right?

Feeling an intense gaze fixed on her from behind, Whitney’s heartbeat suddenly quickened. After taking a few deep breaths, she managed to refocus her thoughts back on the computer.

After about half an hour, Whitney finally went through the plans in front of her and understood why Charles called her naive.

Although her plan seemed perfect on the surface, there were still many details that needed to be addressed.

A plan should always be concise and to the point. In that regard, she fell far short.

From the nearby, the sound of flipping pages could be heard.

Maeve subtly turned her head, only to find Charles engrossed in a book about finance and economics.

She had some knowledge about that book before. It was written entirely in a foreign. language. Because the subject was too niche, there was no translation available worldwide.

Someone as capable as him should have no problem reading it, right?

The more she read, the more she realized the vast difference between her abilities and his. Silently, she withdrew her gaze and refocused on the documents in front of her.

After a long while, Whitney felt soreness in her back. Just as she was about to stretch, a figure. appeared beside her.

As the scent that was uniquely Charles’s drew closer, she held her breath instantly.

He slowly bent over, lightly clicking the mouse, and annotating on the document. He directly

highlighted the key points within, his pleasant voice resonating in the background.

“All these proposals have one thing in common. This part, this part, and this part all employ the same method…”

His masculine fingers danced across the computer screen.

After a while, he finally stopped pointing and asked, “Do you understand?”

His sudden question caught Whitney off guard, making her incredibly nervous. She stammered, “L… I… There’s something I still don’t quite get.”

She casually made up an excuse to strike up a conversation, and to her surprise, Charles unexpectedly answered her in great detail.

Something’s not right. Something is really not right. At the meeting today. I was the one who messed things up, so why did Charles become even more gentle toward me now that we’re home?

Questions began to pop up in Whitney’s mind, but she didn’t dare to voice them.

After drafting a simple project proposal on the computer, Charles noticed that her mind was not on it. Frustrated, he lightly tapped her on the head.

“As a reward for teaching you how to write a proposal, accompany me to a dinner. party tomorrow as my female companion.”

“Female companion?”

Charles raised an eyebrow arrogantly, “Do you have a problem?”

“No, not at all.”

Whitney knew she had no right to refuse, as she was now just his wife by agreement.

Before going to bed, Charles sent her the guest list for the business gala on her phone, asking her to remember some of the names.

A large conglomerate like Harris Group would undoubtedly be on the guest list for the gala.

Sure enough, Whitney spotted Gwendolyn’s name at a glance, written right below Charles’

name.

The next day, after a full day’s work, Whitney was called by Isaac to Charles’s office.

Without uttering another word, Charles took Whitney away from the office. Throughout the journey, he remained silent. The tactful Whitney didn’t probe. Instead, she quietly waited for his instructions.

The luxury car continued its journey into the parking lot of a high-end shopping district. Only then did Charles glance at her indifferently, uttering his first words of the day.

“Let’s go.”

Whitney obediently unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the car door.
