Luther was taken aback, clearly not expecting Christian to make such a request. But upon further thought, it was understandable. After all, for the past few years, Alisha had been in a coma at the hospital, and Christian had taken care of her. Now that Christian knew Alisha had woken up, it was only natural for him to feel relieved.
Luther gently touched Alisha's hair and said, "This Uncle Ballard saved you when you were little. Would you like to let him hold you?"
Alisha looked at Christian and asked, "Uncle Ballard, you have the same last name as Daddy. Are you Mommy's brother?"
Christian was startled. Could the "Mommy" Alisha referred to be Athena?! Athena actually claimed to be Alisha's mother. What was she planning?
Christian was about to speak when Luther shook his head, indicating that Christian shouldn't say anything. It wasn't the right time yet, and Alisha wouldn't be able to accept it.
Christian opened his mouth but swallowed his words. "Uh, can I hold you, Alisha? I watched you grow up when you were little," he asked softly.
Alisha clung to Luther's neck, thought for a moment, and then nodded.
"Okay." She opened her arms to Christian.
Christian took Alisha from Luther's embrace and held her in his arms. Her body was soft, small, and warm-a tangible presence. He was a bit excited, and his arms trembled uncontrollably. When he held Alisha, he was extremely careful, afraid of accidentally bumping her. It felt like cradling the most cherished treasure.
He had thought that Alisha was dead, but now that he knew she was alive, the news was incredibly shocking. His eyes lit up, and it felt like the whole world was illuminated.
Luther looked at Christian with a complicated expression. They had been good friends since childhood, and if it weren't for Athena's interference, they might still be friends. Unfortunately, that bond had been broken, and they could never regain it.
But now, it seemed that through Alisha, the relationship between them had subtly changed once again.
With Alisha in his arms, Christian suddenly looked deeply at Luther. "She doesn't know yet?"
Luther understood what Christian meant. By "she," Christian was referring to Joyce.
He shook his head.
Christian narrowed his eyes. "Do I need to tell her?"
Luther shook his head again. "Not for now. I'll handle it. It's not the right time yet."
Dangerous glints gathered in Christian's eyes. If Luther, even Joyce, was hidden from him, there must be things he didn't know. He observed Alisha carefully and noticed that her complexion was pale, and her rosy lips had a hint of weakness, despite her sweet and lovely appearance.
"Is she sick?" Christian asked.
Luther explained, "Yes, she just recovered from pneumonia."
Christian furrowed his brows, suspecting that it wasn't that simple.
He handed Alisha back to Luther, who reached out and steadied her.
Christian's expression became serious but determined. "I will take care of my family matters. Just wait and see!"
With that, he turned around and left quickly.
The black-clad figures behind him immediately followed, cautiously asking, "Mr. Ballard, what should we say if Miss Athena finds out you've been here?"
Christian didn't even look back, simply saying, "Whatever."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wrong marriage and sweet love (Joyce and Luther)
If this is the ending of this story the story then I wish I hadn’t started reading it doesn’t even end right has not closure. To bad these writers don’t put much into their endings....
When will the new chapters come I can't wait any longer...
Very strange ending, is Joyce pregnant again or does she still have remnants of the devil with her. Christian should have apologized and made up with Luther and Felix. Too much violence and twists and turns, once settled, everyone should be happy and healthy....
Omg… can’t you just let Luther and Joyce live in peace with their children….another controversy doesn’t add to the story....
Not again, ugh … just get rid of this disgusting despicable woman...
Hopefully the underground bio lab East523will be found soon and Luther will make a full recovery, Lily will be reunited with the family and all will be good. Otherwise this will be a very disappointing story....
Please don’t make more trouble for Joyce and Luther, they need to have their children and be happy...
Looking forward to Joyce shooting Otis where it will hurt him the most and end his disgusting ways with women. He’s a pig, deserves to lose his “unit”....
Just tell him you’re the one that saved him , not the evil woman and find your beautiful love story together. Quit being a wet blanket, too smart for that....
I hate it when the hero and heroine are made out to be fools for the evil people that wish to steal their lives and live. Hopefully Charlotte is found out quickly and removed. Why should a villain with an illegitimate child reap all the rewards. Terrible....
