Felix stepped forward and pressed the button on the electric hospital bed.
In surprise, he asked, "You don't recognize me?"
As the bed slowly raised, Westbrook sat up, his eyes filled with unfamiliarity, shaking his head.
"Uncle, I don't know you. Who are you? Where am I? Who am I again?"
Xiao Cheng Cloud was baffled, looking around, completely bewildered about what was happening.
Felix took a sharp breath and said to Vicki, "Wait for me here, I'll go call the doctor."
"Okay," Vicki nodded, sitting beside Westbrook.
When Westbrook saw Joyce holding his hand, he couldn't help but ask, "Who are you? Are you my mother?" Joyce gave a warm feeling, so he couldn't help but want to rely on her.
Joyce was at a loss, not knowing how to respond. The child had just woken up and lost his memory. Would it be bad to hit him at this time?
Luther shook his head, replying for Joyce, "She's not. She's your classmate's mother."
Finishing his words, Luther embraced Anderson, "She is his mother, he's called Anderson, your classmate."
"Oh," disappointment flashed in Westbrook's eyes. He didn't look at Anderson for long because he had no impression at all. He asked again, "Where are my mom and dad? Have they come?"
Anderson stood aside, carefully observing Westbrook. He felt Westbrook wasn't pretending, he had definitely lost his memory. He didn't speak, just stood silently.
Joyce and Vicki glanced at each other, how should they answer this question? They couldn't possibly tell him that his parents were all dead? A child who had just woken up from a coma surely couldn't bear such a blow.
Joyce thought for a moment, "Well, your parents have gone to a very far away place. Their work is of a sensitive nature and cannot be disclosed. Before leaving, they entrusted your care to us."
"Ah..." Westbrook looked even more disappointed, his eyes welling up, "Why am I here?"
He reached out to touch his head. When he felt the thick bandage and the sticky feeling underneath, he felt a pang of pain.
"What's wrong with my head? Is this a hospital?"
Vicki spoke at this point, "Yes, this is a hospital. You accidentally fell down the stairs and injured your head. A few stitches, nothing serious."
At that moment, Felix entered with the doctor.
The doctor came to the bedside.
Joyce quickly made room, "Doctor, please take a look at him. He seems to have amnesia, doesn't remember his name or what happened."
The doctor stepped forward with a flashlight, "Kid, open your eyes wide so I can take a look." He shone the flashlight into Westbrook's pupils, "Kid, tell me, what's 2 plus 3?"
"Equals 5," Westbrook replied.
"What about 5 plus 4?" The doctor asked again.
The doctor put away the flashlight and turned to Vicki and Felix, "On the surface, there doesn't seem to be a major problem. His mindis clear, his logic is sound, and his language abilities have not been affected. You don't need to worry too much."
Felix pulled the doctor aside, "But he has amnesia. Why is this happening?"
Vicki approached them, "Let's discuss this outside, not in front of the child."
The doctor nodded.
So, Luther and Anderson stayed to accompany Westbrook.
Joyce, Vicki, and Felix, along with the doctor, went to the door of the ward. After closing the door, they discussed in hushed tones.
"There are many reasons for amnesia. You've all seen Westbrook's brain CT scans just now. Whether it's the cerebrum or the cerebellum, they haven't suffered significant external impact. At least from the images, it doesn't seem likely to have caused amnesia. However, the human brain is a complex and delicate organ. Currently, we understand less than 1% of the brain. There are many possible causes of amnesia; it's possible that during an external trauma, it just happened to touch a certain storage point for information. There's also the possibility of psychological factors. Have you ever heard of selective amnesia? Some people, due to extreme stress or very painful memories, their brains create a self-protective mechanism during a major event, causing them to subconsciously forget that unpleasant past, leading to psychological amnesia. All of these are possible." The doctor explained in detail.
Vicki frowned, "So, we can't determine the cause of his amnesia. And we don't know if he will recover his memory, right?"
The doctor replied, "Personally, I think the possibility of recovering his memory is gone. Because he is very young now, normally, at this age, memories fade with time, let alone now that he has already forgotten. The likelihood of him remembering is almost non-existent."
"Are you saying he will never remember who he is again?" Felix struggled to digest this fact.
At this moment, Joyce suddenly spoke, "Don't you all think? Westbrook's amnesia is actually a good thing, isn't it?"
Everyone looked at Joyce in unison, "What do you mean?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wrong marriage and sweet love (Joyce and Luther)
Why has all the names changed from english name to Chinese, It’s difficult to understand who is who...
If this is the ending of this story the story then I wish I hadn’t started reading it doesn’t even end right has not closure. To bad these writers don’t put much into their endings....
When will the new chapters come I can't wait any longer...
Very strange ending, is Joyce pregnant again or does she still have remnants of the devil with her. Christian should have apologized and made up with Luther and Felix. Too much violence and twists and turns, once settled, everyone should be happy and healthy....
Omg… can’t you just let Luther and Joyce live in peace with their children….another controversy doesn’t add to the story....
Not again, ugh … just get rid of this disgusting despicable woman...
Hopefully the underground bio lab East523will be found soon and Luther will make a full recovery, Lily will be reunited with the family and all will be good. Otherwise this will be a very disappointing story....
Please don’t make more trouble for Joyce and Luther, they need to have their children and be happy...
Looking forward to Joyce shooting Otis where it will hurt him the most and end his disgusting ways with women. He’s a pig, deserves to lose his “unit”....
Just tell him you’re the one that saved him , not the evil woman and find your beautiful love story together. Quit being a wet blanket, too smart for that....
