Luther wondered why Joyce had a shocked look on her face.
He stepped forward and grasped Joyce's arm. He questioned again, "You still haven't answered me. Why did you push her down the stairs?"
At that moment, Joyce's cell phone suddenly rang sharply.
The ring echoed in the empty corridor abruptly. It never stopped, like the funeral tolling.
She looked down and saw that it was Karl calling. Her pupils contracted again as a bad feeling rose in her heart.
Without a situation so serious that even Karl couldn't handle it, Karl couldn't have called her at all.
For less urgent matters, all he had to do was send her a text message. He knew she was waiting for his message and that she would see it.
So, something must have happened.
Unconsciously, Joyce's fingers trembled slightly.
She pressed the answer button and Karl's urgent voice came from the other end of the line, "Joyce, something's wrong!"
"What's wrong?" Joyce's heart missed a beat.
"There's no time to explain. Back door parking lot. We can’t wait. You come down immediately and I'll take you."
Karl finished and simply hung up.
His voice sounded like he was gasping for air. He was a battle-hardened detective, and the things that could make him panic must not be trivial.
Joyce put away her phone, swatted Luther away, and strode past him.
"You can't leave!" Luther yanked Joyce back.
"I have to go. Don't you stop me! Let go!" Joyce roared. Anger appeared on her delicate face and her normally crystal-bright eyes were ignited with a breathtaking flame.
"This is a criminal offense! Why exactly did you do this? You tell me why, and maybe I'll try to get you out of prison a few years earlier." Luther wouldn't stop. He thought to himself that he was tolerant enough of her. This, however, was a criminal offense, and only a good confession would give her a chance. Otherwise he might not be able to save her. Didn’t she even understand that? He didn't even take sides with his own sister.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wrong marriage and sweet love (Joyce and Luther)
If this is the ending of this story the story then I wish I hadn’t started reading it doesn’t even end right has not closure. To bad these writers don’t put much into their endings....
When will the new chapters come I can't wait any longer...
Very strange ending, is Joyce pregnant again or does she still have remnants of the devil with her. Christian should have apologized and made up with Luther and Felix. Too much violence and twists and turns, once settled, everyone should be happy and healthy....
Omg… can’t you just let Luther and Joyce live in peace with their children….another controversy doesn’t add to the story....
Not again, ugh … just get rid of this disgusting despicable woman...
Hopefully the underground bio lab East523will be found soon and Luther will make a full recovery, Lily will be reunited with the family and all will be good. Otherwise this will be a very disappointing story....
Please don’t make more trouble for Joyce and Luther, they need to have their children and be happy...
Looking forward to Joyce shooting Otis where it will hurt him the most and end his disgusting ways with women. He’s a pig, deserves to lose his “unit”....
Just tell him you’re the one that saved him , not the evil woman and find your beautiful love story together. Quit being a wet blanket, too smart for that....
I hate it when the hero and heroine are made out to be fools for the evil people that wish to steal their lives and live. Hopefully Charlotte is found out quickly and removed. Why should a villain with an illegitimate child reap all the rewards. Terrible....
