Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 145

The corner of Monique’s eyes throbbed. Was Henry regretting it?

She instinctively turned around, beckoned by his irrefutable tone. She slowly walked to him.

“Chairman Moore, do you have any other instructions?” She smiled ever so slightly.

Henry opened the drawer with his slender hand. He took out a gold card from the drawer and passed it to her. “This card is for you!”

Monique was stunned. It was a very beautiful gold card—it must be a debit card. “Thank you, but I don’t need it.”

“This is an order!” Henry’s voice sounded cold.

He pulled her hand and put the card in it. “Buy something with this card when you go back.” His domineering tone made it irrefutable.

Monique looked at the card in her hand, feeling baffled. Was his mind filled with crap? He started treating her well after all the insults.

He even forced her to take his card. Was this compensation?

Did this card symbolize his request for her to surrender and be his lover?!

That was too hilarious!

She did not care to take his card, but neither did she want to provoke him. If she did not take the card, who knew if the man would go mad again.

The corner of her crystal clear eyes crooked like a moon as she smiled. She gently raised the card and said, “Thank you then.”

Henry felt satisfied looking at her sweet smile, yet a little disappointed. No woman could resist the temptation of money. He said coldly, “Go back tomorrow.”

Monique twitched her lips. Did she have the freedom to choose? No—she had never had that freedom to begin with.

‘Tomorrow it is!’

She turned around. Her smile started to fade and turned into a looming bitterness.

Monique had to pack her clothes when she arrived home that night, but there was nothing to pack. It was just a few changing clothes for herself and Angel.

She had been sleeping early to avoid having to communicate with Henry. He was too well behaved and did not bully her anymore.

However, Monique could not sleep well that night.

She dreamt that Henry lowered his face as he looked at her; his gaze terrifying.

She had also dreamt that Angel abandoned her and only wanted Henry. She was so scared that she nearly went mad.

After a while, she dreamt that her uncle pointed at her face and said that she was shameless. Then, someone hugged her from the back and dotted her. She wished to see him clearly yet she could not.

She also dreamt that her grandfather came back but he took a look at her and wanted to leave. Monique felt anxious. Her grandfather was clearly disappointed in her. Was he abandoning her? She was so anxious that she cried, “Grandpa, don’t leave! Don’t leave! Are all of you going to abandon me?”

Henry had just gone to bed but had yet to sleep. He looked at the woman in front of her, frowning and sobbing like a child who lost her toy—how pitiful.
