His voice sounded indolent and magnetic yet as if he was ordering her, “Use this card.”
“Use this,” Monique quickly said. She could feel pins and needles as she spoke. This was Angel’s school fees. She did not wish to use Henry’s money.
Ms. Campbell was shocked. She looked at Monique’s persistent look, then took another look at Henry’s stern look. “What’s going on with both of you, isn’t it the same regardless of whose card it is?”
Ms. Campbell decided to take Henry’s card after she finished speaking. This man was handsome and domineering. However, his look was too stern that no one dared to resist.
“School fee is $2000, living expenses $1500, total amount is $3500,” Teacher Campbell said as she keyed in the amount.
“I’ll pay for the whole year.” Henry raised his brows.
Ms. Campbell opened her eyes wide. A bright light flashed in her eyes. This was not an elite school. Everyone paid on a monthly basis. At most a few parents might pay for one semester. There was no single person that paid for one whole year.
Monique’s eyes twitched, “No. Only for a month!”
Henry squinted his deep dark eyes. Monique had been refusing to use his money since the beginning. She was apparently drawing a line between the both of them. He resisted his impulsion to choke this woman to death and leaned over. “Woman, do not forget your identity.”
Do not forget your identity!
Monique felt like she was struck by lightning. What did he intend to do?
She only wanted to pay the school fees on her own. What had this got to do with him?
Would he tell the teacher about their relationship? If he did, what would Angel think at that moment?
As Monique was stunned, Ms. Campbell had taken Henry’s card and handed him the receipt to sign.
