Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 274

Manager Harper was in the midst of winding down for the day when Chairman Moore’s phone call came. He instinctively hit the answer button before his brain could process why the chairman was calling. “Hello, Chairman Moore.”

It was an unusually late call. Manager Harper wondered if he made any mistakes at work to warrant a personal scolding. He shivered and thought, ‘Was it because I didn’t arrange work for that woman who came by today?’

Manager Harper’s heart raced.

A deep, magnetic voice spoke on the other end resonated through. “Get a position ready for Monique Xander tomorrow.”

Monique Xander?

Chairman Moore’s female driver?

The chairman was calling him for this?

“Of course, of course,” Manager Harper said with a pinched smile.

He did not know what position he should assign Monique so he asked timidly, “What position should I give her?”

“She can have her pick,” Henry Moore said before ending the call.

The cold, impassive tone sent chills down Manager Harper’s spine.

He shivered in response.

She can have her pick!

It meant the woman could do as she pleased.

Manager Harper was suddenly regretful of his treatment of the woman—perhaps he had been too harsh.

After the call, sleep eluded Manager Harper and his eyes were still wide open when the sun rose.
