Monique gave the secretary a smile. Charlotte realized she was staring and quickly excused herself.
“Charlotte, hold up,” Manager Harper said.
“Yes, Manager Harper?”
“Harper…Manager Harper?” Monique stared wide-eyed at the heavyset man who welcomed her with exaggerated hospitality.
Did she miss the introduction?
How did she not realize the bespectacled man was a manager?
She was ashamed of herself.
Charlotte understood the surprise on the woman’s face and said, “Yes. He is Manager Harper. Is there a problem?”
“No, no problem.” Monique turned away to hide her embarrassment.
She pressed her fingers to her temple. That was humiliating…
She allowed the manager to make her coffee.
Monique wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it.
The secretary watched the woman with an amused expression.
“Charlotte, don’t stare. Get me the company’s organization chart,” Manager Harper said curtly.
Charlotte was taken aback by Manager Harper’s tone. He was rarely a strict boss but in front of this woman…Who was she and why did she look so familiar?
“Yes, sir.” Charlotte made her exit.
Manager Harper did not even scold her when the chairman’s cousin-in-law came in. Who was the woman?
