Shaun stared at Henry's stunning face and smirked. Thank god Shaun was not gay and had a good sense of self-control. Else, it would be impossible to withstand facing such a stunning looking face like Henry's.
The radiance of the chandeliers beamed on Henry's handsome face. It enhanced his facial features, making him look perfect. His sharp brows, straight nose and his sexy lips were slowly curling into a smile.
Shaun could not believe that he was staring at a man that closely. He was even about to drool, but he quickly came back to his senses.
He would be in deep trouble if Henry were to find out about this. Hence, he quickly fled from the office.
Monique stood motionless with her mind blank after she hung up the call. Henry would be home the following day and she would need to start serving him…
Monique was feeling lost. She felt so lost that she forgot why she was in Angel’s room.
Angel felt uneasy as she looked at her mother who looked depressed. She asked, "Mommy, what's wrong?"
Monique snapped out of it as she looked down at Angel's pretty little face. Angel’s big glittery eyes were staring right back at her.
Monique forced out a gentle smile and said, "I'm perfectly fine. Your daddy said he's coming home tomorrow. I'm just so glad that I spaced out."
Angel curled her little mouth and let out a smile. She then said with a supercilious tone, "Yeah, I know. Daddy told me just now."
Monique smiled faintly, "Angel, it's late. You should be going to bed now."
Angel nodded, lifting Monique's slim and fair hand with her chubby little hands, "Mommy, sleep with me tonight."
Monique was eager to complete her proposal. After talking Henry over the phone, she was even more determined to work harder. She was well aware that she had no experience, knowledge nor savings.
She only managed to pursue her studies till high school. After that, she needed to earn a living and take care of Angel. She was so busy with work that she did not even have the time to sleep, let alone to continue her studies. She needed to buckle up and narrow the gap that she was behind on.
