When they exited Organization D, it was past 10 at night.
“The flight ticket I booked is at 11 p.m. You could still manage it if you go to the airport right now. I’ll pack your things and deliver it back to your home.”
Henry replied with a nod. Shaun hurriedly drove the car over and Henry got in. Although his expression was cold, his heart jumped with joy. The woman who always rejected him actually agreed the day before.
Ever since Mandy’s call, he had been in the office. He had not seen the mother and daughter duo for two and a half days. His heart was already back at Moore Manor. Angel should be asleep at this hour. Would that woman be waiting for him?
Henry did not rest, he just stared out the window at passing scenery. Shaun drove fast and managed to arrive at the airport on time. After watching Henry board the plane, he called Mandy and told her, “Mr. Moore is onboard now. Get to the airport to fetch him when he arrives. He hasn’t eaten anything all day, and refuses to eat airline food, so bring him to supper when he arrives.”
Henry took a small nap onboard.
By 11 p.m, Angel was still waiting. Monique had read her a few stories, but Henry had not yet returned.
“Mommy, why hasn’t Daddy come back yet!” Angel pouted and said childly. Even though she was sleepy, she tried her best to keep her eyes open. Her tone was filled with eagerness.
“Maybe Daddy’s busy. Why don’t you sleep first?” Monique lowered her head, her eyes filled with adoration looking at her daughter’s rosy cheeks. Even though she said that, she really hoped he would not come back when she recalled what he said yesterday: ‘Get yourself cleaned up and wait for me.’
