“Why are you taking us here?” Monique’s brows were slightly furrowed together with displeasure. It was obvious that Henry did it to stop her from using her break time to earn some extra money.
She did not think that he would be kind enough to get clothes for them, she would be thankful enough if he did not trick her.
“I’m looking for a gift.” Henry lifted the corners of his mouth.
Monique did not believe his words at all. She picked up a piece of clothing casually and looked. She was admiring how pretty, comfortable, and stylish the clothes there were. Little Nomi would look fabulous in these clothes.
Thinking that she would get Little Nomi something when she earned some money, Monique glanced at the price tag and placed the clothing back with shaky hands. She even pulled Little Nomi and took a step back.
It was extremely expensive, she even got a shock from it. She did not forget how she got herself into debt and was forced to be Henry’s driver just because she damaged his clothes!
Henry was extremely amused because of Monique’s change of expression. What a funny woman.
“Little Nomi, stand here. Do not touch these clothes,” said Monique embarrassedly, her lips twitching.
“Why?” Little Nomi looked at Monique who was pursing her lips with her huge teary eyes and a pitiable expression.
The clothes there were pretty and she liked them.
“Mommy, I’ll just look, please?” pleaded Little Nomi.
Monique shook her head firmly.
Henry looked at Little Nomi and his heart sank. She must have suffered a lot with her mother all these years.
He pulled Little Nomi to him and looked at a salesman. “Pick some clothes for her,” Henry instructed the salesman.
