“Let’s go!” Eric’s voice suddenly sounded behind Arabella.
“Uncle!” Ivan shouted excitedly seeing him.
Arabella turned to look at Eric.
She was surprised by his sudden presence.
“Why are you here? I thought you are busy now?” Arabella frowned.
She immediately forgot what her mind was thinking earlier.
Eric looked at Sharon while Sharon was also looking at them with a puzzled expression but she was smiling not to come out to be so nosy.
“Sharon, this is my brother.” Arabella started to introduce them. “Brother this is my friend.” Arabella's eyes were thinking of something that she could not figure out even if she tried harder. “We also worked together before,” Arabella added with a smile but her eyes were lost.
Eric just nodded at Sharon.
He didn’t like strangers to talk to Arabella and he heard their conversation that is why with big strides, he interrupted them.
They were talking about Bill Sky.
That man!
He didn’t deserve to occupy her mind.
He deserved to vanish in Arabella’s memory.
Eric was clenching his fists again remembering the man who made Arabella suffer.
“And this…” Arabella held Ivan’s shoulder. “This is my son.” Arabella introduced the little boy in her cart.
“Adam, say hi, to my friend, Aunt Sharon,” Arabella asked Ivan.
Sharon froze in her spot.
Her smile faded immediately.
Something was wrong.
Arabella Sky’s son is Adam Sky.
In capital Z, they were like a royal family.
When Bill Sky showed his family to the public, their faces were like the image of the city.
Sharon could not be mistaken for Adam Sky’s face.
After Bill Sky spared her life even if she offended him, Sharon became a fan of Bill Sky as she considered him his life savior.
If he killed her at that time as her punishment, her son would become homeless and parentless.
Now, her son was in college and was about to graduate.
She was happy seeing Arabella Jones by Bill Sky’s side and she also had a collection of their family pictures that she cut out from different magazines.
She had also a big picture of Adam cut from a tabloid so she was sure that the boy in front of her was too different from Adam Sky.
Sharon was very puzzled but she didn’t want to make it obvious.
How could she say that the boy is not Adam Sky?
“Are you okay, Sharon?” Arabella asked as Sharon seemed frozen and her eyes were not leaving Adam.
“Yeah,” Sharon answered along with a stiff smile.
“Let’s go now!” Eric saw the obvious. He quickly held Arabella’s cart and her waist to leave.
“Bye, Sharon. It was nice to see you again. Take care.” Arabella politely waved her hand at Sharon was still left in a daze.
She waved too while her eyes traced their backs.
Sharon could feel something weird but she could not confirm it.
It was all in her mind for now.
She shook her head to get rid of her bad thoughts then walked away.
When they reached the house, Eric didn’t open the topic again.
He didn’t ask about Sharon instead he opened another topic just to cover the conversation she had with that woman named Sharon.
Before, Eric hoped for Arabella’s quick recovery not until he and Ivan became used to her in their lives.
At first, Eric had feared only one thing.
He was afraid of her breakdown as per the doctor so he gave Arabella a new cellphone so he could hide her old one.
Surely, Arabella had pictures of Adam and Bill Sky on her phone.
On her new phone, only Eric's and Ivan's numbers were saved.
He also ordered his IT to block the usage of search engines and news websites even Arabella was not fond of using the internet.
She was only fond of reading books but Eric just wanted to make sure.
Admittedly, after 3 months, Eric’s fear became fears.
Eric feared that Arabella would remember everything.
He was afraid that Arabella would remember Adam and would go out of her way to find him everywhere.
He was afraid to not control her if she would break down.
He was afraid that she would remember Bill Sky.
He was also afraid that the satisfaction he felt for the past 3 months would be gone tomorrow or anytime.
Most importantly, he was afraid Arabella would leave his house.
His house would become lifeless again.
Ivan would obviously go back to his normal sad soul.
Eric gritted his teeth as his thoughts frightened him.
He had never been scared before.
It was only now that he was very scared of something.
Eric lit a cigarette in the garden and puffed it until he released the tension inside him.
“Brother? Why are you still awake?” Eric quickly threw his cigarette hearing Arabella’s voice behind him.
He smoked when he was tensed but he stopped a long time ago.
Today, he could not help it.
“I’m just thinking about something,” Eric answered turning his head to see the girl who’s coming to sit beside him.
“Do you have a problem in the office?” Arabella’s eyes were full of concern and it made Eric’s heart jump. “You can tell me,” Arabella said sweetly.
Eric was controlling his emotion but he couldn’t help to hold her hands.
His gloomy and worried eyes met her eyes.
Arabella felt restless with what he saw in Eric’s eyes. She instantly felt very worried as she just let him hold her hands.
“Whatever happened, know that I am here for you,” Eric uttered every word sincerely while his eyes never leaving hers. “All I want is to make you happy. I don’t want to see you cry again.” Eric continued.
Arabella let go of her sweetest smile. “I am. I am very happy, brother.” Arabella answered to assure and appeased Eric’s worries.
After hearing her answer, Eric kissed her hand.
Arabella was shocked and she saw him was shocked too.
Eric didn’t know what he had just done. It was his subconscious that was taking over him.
“I’m sorry.” He uttered quickly as he averted his gaze away from her.
He knew he wanted to do it to her for a long time but he always held back his desire.
