Coralie Chariott packed her stuff and took the contract. As she was heading out of the door, Valerie Rae blocked her way, "Don't you want to see Skylar?"
Valerie looked at the contract in Coralie's hand when she spoke.
She had discovered the contract after emptying the drawers and going through Coralie's belongings. Although it was just a copy of the original contract, when she saw that the contract was supposed to end tomorrow, she thought that it was all meant to be.
A year later, Coralie was finally going to give up her place.
Coralie lowered her head and looked at Valerie, who was leaning against the wall, "Well, I have to see him. After all, we have a marriage certificate. We need to get divorced at the Civil Affairs Bureau."
When she saw the pair of legs under Valerie's long dress, it was obvious that one of them was a prosthetic.
Although she felt guilty, she still looked at Valerie's face and asked her, "Is it really an accident?"
"What?"
Valerie did not expect Coralie to ask this question.
"Was it really an accident?"
Coralie asked straightforwardly. She wanted to know the truth.
In the end, Valerie lost a leg, and Coralie was shunned by the Holland family. Since things had turned out this way, it was better to break it off as soon as possible.
Furthermore, even Skylar had already asked her to leave.
In that case, she should just abide and go along with his wish.
"That car accident?"
Valerie did not expect Coralie to doubt her. She glimpsed at the mobile phone in Coralie's hand, uncertain if she was recording the conversation.
"Yes."
"Do you think that I would be foolish enough to break my own leg?"
Valerie asked.
In fact, there was a hiccup in the plan. Valerie's original plan was to push Coralie off the mountain and she herself should suffer some minor injuries in order to waive any suspicion off. However, she lost her leg in the end because she didn't expect that the driver would lose control of the angle and she wasn't quick enough to dodge.
However, her following play could be considered as a blessing in disguise.
After all, Coralie had already posed a great threat to her. If she did not sacrifice even a little, how could she keep Skylar by her side and drive Coralie away?
"Are you really sick then? Would you really hurt yourself when Skylar is not around you? If so, why are you fine now?"
Coralie persisted in getting the truth.
"I got a little better after getting the treatment, but my condition still isn't very stable. If I were to see Skylar with another woman..."
Valerie's eyes were full of provocation.
It was obvious that she was not talking about her illness but rather, declaring war against Coralie.
"OK, I'll leave then."
Coralie felt that it would be pointless to ask any more questions. Moreover, Skylar refused to believe that there was nothing between her and Franklin Moore that night.
With her clothes and contract secured in her hands, Coralie was about to make her way downstairs.
However, before she could even do so, she saw the servant carrying a few bags of clothes into the master bedroom. Suddenly, a pair of sexy lingerie slipped out of the bag. The servant picked it up quickly.
Valerie happened to see it behind her and hinted, "Oh, why did that have to fall out? Miss Chariott, please don't misunderstand. My mother packed them for me."
This could not be more obvious.
Coralie wasn't in the mood to speak anymore, so she took her things and went out.
