You More Than Anything In The World novel Chapter 1346

“What were you up to with them?” Darius asked Ethen in curiosity, surprised that it was because of the kids that Kingsley was sent to the desert by Benjamin.

Ethen swallowed nervously. Under the intense gazes of Darius and Arissa, he had no choice but to confess about beating Justin up.

“Uh well, we brought the kids with along and gave Justin a good beating.”

Arissa fixed her gaze on Ethen before shifting it to the kids. Well, well, well... they've grown increasingly bolder, either beating Julian or Justin up!

“They're still young, yet you brought them with you? Wasn't that simply reckless? It was too dangerous!” Darius reprimanded with a stern expression on his face.

Exposing the kids to the enemy will only place them in even greater danger in the future!

Ethen lowered his head, not daring to utter a word.

“We didn't let them expose themselves in front of Justin, Old Mr. Graham,” Shaun explained timidly, putting away the smile on his face.

Jonathan eyed the few of them. No wonder Benjamin punished Kingsley. It turned out he took the kids on a risky adventure!

“No wonder Benjamin halted the funding for your research project.” Darius snorted coldly, approving of Benjamin's actions.

Shaun smiled sheepishly, not daring to speak anymore either.

Having understood the reason, Arissa felt quite speechless. However, she also knew the nature of the kids, especially Zachary and the others. They were definitely not easy prey. If someone else picked on them, they would surely retaliate.

“It seems that the punishment was too light!” she huffed in reference to the children. Unexpectedly, Shaun mistakenly thought she was talking about them.

“You call this punishment light, Arissa? We wouldn't have conspired with them if it weren't for fear that they'd go and teach him a lesson themselves!” Shaun was utterly regretful. If I'd known things would've ended like this, I wouldn't have brought Gavin and the others along.

Arissa quirked an eyebrow.

She was just about to speak when Benjamin interjected and reprimanded Shaun, “You still think you're in the right? How old are they, and how old are you?”

Shaun looked at Benjamin aggrievedly, but he dared not refute the man.

Exasperation swamped Darius. With a grim expression, he swept his gaze over them. “Don't bring them along to make trouble again next time!”

What's done is done. All I can do right now is give them a piece of my mind so they'd remember this lesson. Thankfully, the kids are safe!

“Yes, of course! We won't dare do that anymore, Old Mr. Graham!” Shaun hastily replied.

Darius swept his eyes around the room before his gaze finally stilled on the kids for a few seconds. He heaved a sigh.

“Let's eat!”

If there's anything more to be said, we'll do so after eating.

The kids had their heads buried in their food, eating quietly.

Even Shaun and the others dared not pester Benjamin to drink with them, merely eating in silence.

Seeing the atmosphere was too quiet, Jonathan joked, “Boss, don't you think your punishment was too lenient?”

Shaun threw him a sidelong glance, muttering, “Are you out of your mind, Jonathan? Do you need me to prescribe you some medication?”

Good Lord! He's actually trying to persuade Benjamin to increase the severity of our punishment! How wicked of him!

“Keep the medication for yourself. I don't need it!” Jonathan's eyes behind his glasses danced with delight, exuding a cunning gleam.

Gritting his teeth, Shaun kicked Jonathan under the table.

Jonathan frowned slightly and cast the man a sidelong glance.

Shaun smirked provocatively, challenging him to bring it on.

However, Jonathan looked away. Raising his glass at Benjamin, he drawled, “Let's have a drink, Boss!”

Benjamin eyed them before he picked up his wine glass and took a sip of its contents.

As he set it back down, he ordered, “Later, go with Ethen to accept your punishment!”

Shaun was left dumbfounded, wearing a pained expression as he gaped at Benjamin's airy demeanor.

“Benjamin.”

Benjamin ignored him, taking food for Arissa and keeping an eye on her mood instead.

“Enjoy your meal, and don't mind them!”

Arissa eyed him thoughtfully.

Since he has already punished Shaun and the others, would he do the same with the kids? But he didn't mention anything about that.
