Gibson’s words reminded the crowd of Maximilian and Victoria, who had attracted great attention earlier.
Alfie stared at Maximilian with venomous eyes and sneered, “How indifferent and passive you are. Have you held a grudge so you don’t take the initiative to present grandfather your gift?”
Victoria was panicked. It was not because she did not want to give their gifts, but she really did not prepare for it and had no birthday gifts for Grandpa Hugo.
Although Maximilian had assured her the gift, she did not believe it at all. So she did not know what to do when Gibson mentioned the gift.
Noticing Victoria’s panicked face, Alfie smiled with greater joy, “Aa ha, you don’t prepare it at all, do you?”
Victoria bowed her head in embarrassment, not knowing how to retort. She opened her mouth and said faintly, “I’m so sorry.”
When she finished her words, there was a silence on the hall and everyone looked at Maximilian and Victoria with strange eyes.
Laura and Marcus were stunned and rooted to the spot, speechless. How should they forget to bring the gift on such an important day! Who would believe it? How would the guests present think of their family?
Marcus was roaring silently in his heart. Laura’s mind went blank and she could not think of anything.
“Ah ha.” Alfie laughed out, “Are you kidding us? Do you regard us as mentally retarded with an excuse that you forgot our grandpa’s 70th birthday gift?”
“Even if Maximilian, a loser does not care about it, as the granddaughter of our grandpa, Victoria, how could you forget it? There’s no excuse for such behavior.”
Tommy was also blaming them.
Alfie wanted to humiliated Maximilian and Victoria, while Tommy helped his father turn aside the topic under discussion and stopped Drew from being in the limelight.
The two had different purposes, but both aimed at attacking Maximilian and Victoria.
Jessica smiled and squinted at Victoria contemptuously, “Victoria, as Hugo’s granddaughter, grandfather used to hold on to you first in the past. When you’ve got the good things, I had no choice but got whatever you left. So it’s reasonable that you should give grandpa a better birthday gift than mine. How could you forget about it at all?”
“They are quite ungrateful. Perhaps they have intended to mess up grandpa’s birthday banquet. Otherwise, no one can do such shameless things.” Oscar said in support of Jessica.
Sylvie pulled her face and said, “It’s unbearable of you. Victoria, you’re so disappointing. Do you know how sad grandfather will be because of your behavior? How could you do that? If I had known you were such an ungrateful person, I would not have picked you up!”
Gibson was rejoiced and secretly applauded for his masterstroke just now that Drew could not show off and the attention of the crowed was attracted to Maximilian and Victoria.
Pop! Gibson was so excited that he pounded the table and shouted, “Maximilian, Victoria, what are going to do? Never mind making trouble before, but you should not forget grandfather’s birthday gift. Or are you too poor to buy a gift?”
“Even if you don’t have money to buy a birthday gift, you can let us know, and we elders will help you. But look at what you’ve done! You are disgracing our Wright Family!” Carson frowned and said.
Drew stood by with perplexity. He didn’t know about the whole thing, so he did not say anything.
Hugo looked extremely sullen and he was so angry that he even wanted to beat Maximilian to death.
