Young Lord of The Dragon Sect novel Chapter 605

“Yes! You’re right! How do you know it? Don’t tell me you’re just guessing.”

Maximilian smiled and pointed at the Guanyin Bodhisattva behind the dragon.

“I can tell it from the appearance of the Guanyin Bodhisattva. I have been seen some overseas statues and one of the Guanyin Bodhisattva statue’s style from Sakura Kingdom is similar with yours. That’s why I know.”

Actually, Maximilian knew this thanks to Ewan’s help.

Ewan found the trend that people were getting more and more interested in antiques from overseas. He kept on doing research about the features of antiques from overseas and made counterfeits by his delicate technique.

The antiques included statues, porcelains, weapon and other items. He made a fortune because ordinary people didn’t know much about antiques from overseas. Maximilian learned some knowledge from him.

After seeing the Guanyin Bodhisattva statue with a giant dragon, Maximilian associated it with the faked itmes that Ewan had made and could naturally tell the statue’s origin.

Euan thought Maximilian’s explanation was reasonable; however, it wasn’t the answer he looked forward to.

Then he asked, “Yes, you’re right about this. Anything else?”

Maximilian came close to the statue and touched it to feel its texture.

After checking it with scrutiny, Maximilian sat on the sofa and answered, “Well…in terms of texture, I think it is made from ruby coral. A large piece of ruby coral can only be found in Sakura Kingdom, as it is rich in corals. Besides, the carving method matches perfectly to craftsman from Sakura Kingdom. He added proper details and makes it seem reserved, simplified and generous, which is common for statues from Sakura Kingdom. Am I explaining it in a right way?”

Euan applauded after hearing Maximilian’s words.

“Exactly! I have never expected that you are familiar with antiques from overseas. Nice analysis!”

Maximilian waved his hand, looked at the statue in front of him and continued, “I have never expected that such a treasure could show up in the auction. Why did he sell it?”

“It’ not a problem of willingness. He has to do it.”

Euan’s words were interesting.

Pearce was the most powerful antique businessman in the TY City. He owned lots of treasure and didn’t have to sell such a fine works of art on that day’s auction. Was there someone threatening him to sell it?

Maximilian told Euan his confusion and Euan explained, “Well, nobody can expect why such a fine statue appeared in the auction. Besides, Pearce is also known for his mean manner. I will show you a photo to explain why he sold it rather than keep it.”

After saying this, Euan grabbed out his phone, clicked a photo and handed it to Maximilian.

Maximilian’s eyes opened wide when seeing it.

Euan nodded.

Maximilian thought this explained why the two statues were so similar in terms of style. He almost thought the one Euan bought was a fake.

Euan put down his phone and pointed at the statue on the table.

“Although Hideki inherit his father’s technique, he is not as good as his father. You can tell from the two photos that he is more of a businessman than a craftsman. According to what I heard, Pearce got both of the statues from Hideki, and they work in partnership. I find Hideki sitting next to him in this auction. If what I assume is right, this statue is the key for Pearce to start his business to sell antiques from overseas in the domestic market.”

Maximilian thought highly of Euan after hearing his analysis.

Although he was young, he was really smart and good at understanding business patterns.

“Indeed, it’s easy to explain why Pearce sold this statue generously. I think domestic market will soon be occupied with antiques from overseas…”

Maximilian came to the same conclusion after Euan’s analysis.

The cooperation between Pearce and Hideki was to use Guanyin Bodhisattva statue with a dragon as a trigger to open their market in the domestic market and to import more antiques and make money in the future.

It seemed there would be a new problem in the antique industry.
