Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren) novel Chapter 261

The flashing red and blue siren lights stood out brilliantly against the darkness.

When Robert saw that the vehicles behind them were police cars, his expression changed instantly. He hesitated for a quick second before looking down and sent a message to Carlisle.

Within those few seconds, two patrol cars caught up from behind.

Katrina had already lost hope, but the sudden sound of sirens made her snap her head up and look behind her. When she saw the police cars closing in, a flicker of hope lit up in her eyes, and the weight in her chest finally eased.

After all, they were still in the city. Even though this road didn't have much traffic at night, the commotion they caused was bound to draw attention.

Her gamble had paid off. Katrina breathed a slow sigh of relief, finally allowing herself to relax.

The two police cars sped up when they saw the car ahead refuse to stop, boxing in the vehicle that Katrina was in.

A warning sounded from a patrol car, "Your driving violates traffic regulations. Pull over immediately for inspection!"

Mark's face was grim as he slowed down slightly and glanced toward the passenger seat. He asked, "Robbie, what do we do? Should we stop?"

The police continued to repeat their warnings. If this went on any longer, it would probably make the news headlines by morning.

Robert closed his eyes in hopelessness, his expression weary. He had been working for Carlisle the longest, and it was because of the latter's trust that he had been assigned this task. Now that he had made a mess of things, he feared what would happen when they went back.

He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. "Pull over."
