Katrina felt as though Carlisle had truly wanted to strangle her just moments ago.

Only now did she finally see the man who had slept beside her all these years for what he truly was. He was no longer just morally corrupt and unfaithful within their marriage. He was a madman.

For years, Carlisle had hidden this side of him well. If she hadn't brought up divorce and refused to compromise, she might never have known that he would turn out to be such a paranoid and terrifying person.

Staring at his familiar face, Katrina felt a cold shiver run down her spine, spreading from her heart to her limbs.

If he truly had murderous intent, he could find a hundred ways to make her disappear from this world without a trace.

The fear in Katrina's eyes snapped Carlisle back to his senses. Seeing the horrific red marks on her neck, he instinctively reached out, but Katrina flinched, watching him warily.

Carlisle frowned and called out, "James, Katrina is injured. Bring the first aid kit."

James had not gone far, and upon hearing the command, he immediately responded, "Yes, Mr. Zachman."

"I was angry earlier. I didn't mean to hurt you," Carlisle explained.

Ignoring Katrina's resistance, he gently scooped her up from the floor and carried her upstairs.

Finally, Katrina realized she was at a disadvantage and had no choice but to submit.

After everything that had just happened, she dared not make any drastic moves, fearing it would anger Carlisle further. She could only allow him to carry her upstairs.

Carlisle laid her down beside the bed. Just as he was about to take a step back, James entered with the first aid kit.

James glanced at the mark on Katrina's neck, pausing for a moment before asking, "Mr. Zachman, I've brought the first aid kit. Both you and Mrs. Zachman are injured. Should I call a doctor?"
