The night was quiet. It seemed that all the creatures had fallen asleep.
Xavier didn't sleep, and even the baby didn't wake up.
He sat by the bed and looked at her quietly. The moonlight shone through the curtains and fell on her face as if it was covered with a thin layer of light, looking dimly discernible.
He reached out his hand and gently stroked her cheek. The warm touch between his fingers made him throb. He thought how stupid his previous thoughts were.
How could he die without giving her enough love in this life?
Arya felt itchy and moved to avoid it.
Xavier withdrew his hand. He lay down beside her, held her in his arms, and gently rubbed his lips behind her ears...
Arya was still asleep before, and now she was conscious and knew who was holding her. She slowly opened her eyes and looked out the window. Tears slid down from the corner of her eyes without any warning...
Xavier felt the change in her breath. He gently wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her earlobes, cheeks, and said in a low and hoarse voice, "Forgive me..."
"I need some time." She didn't want to lie to him or herself. She needed time to change her mood.
If he forced Arya to date him now, there must be a barrier between them.
In the past, Xavier would never allow her to leave him, but now, he did not dare to force her.
In the morning, Daisy came over before Xavier left. At noon, Caspar came.
Knowing that Arya had a baby, he specially bought a gift.
"Why are you alone? Why doesn't Alice come?" Caspar didn't want to tell Arya, but he felt uncomfortable for keeping it a secret.
"We're divorced." Caspar drooped his head and was dejected.
Arya frowned in disbelief. Even she could realize that Caspar and Alice were in a good relationship. How could they be divorced?
"She hasn't given birth to a baby. My parents put a lot of pressure on her..." Caspar knew that Alice chose to divorce him in large part because she couldn't give birth, and the attitude of the family was not the real trigger.
Caspar said they could adopt a child, or move out of the house to live alone.
"She's too stubborn. She's hiding. I haven't heard from her at all." Caspar became more annoyed.
Only then did Arya realize that Alice had not come here to visit her since her accident.
If she was still in the company, she would know what Orlando knew and would come to see her.
"How long has she been absent?" Arya asked.
"Almost two months." Caspar scratched his hair and looked up at Arya, "I shouldn't have told you this."
"It's okay." Arya looked at Caspar and felt sorry for him.
She had seen him talk so eloquently in court, and now looking at his thin and listless appearance, it was really different. There are dark circles under his eyes, and he must have not slept well during this period.
"How can I help you?" Arya felt that Alice was ill-considered. Alice should have talked to Caspar instead of hiding.
"I've found all the places she might go. You'd better go through the postpartum confinement and take good care of yourself." Caspar had no expression and he was not in a good mood.
Arya sighed slightly, "Then what are you going to do in the future?"
"Just play it by ear." In fact, Caspar didn't know what he could do. He couldn't start a new relationship now.
Alice broke his heart.
Caspar looked around the room, "Isn't Ryan there?"
"No. I don't even have time to play with Ryan. When he comes, can you hang out with him?"
Ryan had known Caspar for a long time and had deep feelings for him. Arya said that she wanted Caspar to hang out with Ryan, but in fact, she just wanted Caspar to go out and relax.
"That's a good idea. Ever since Ryan returned to the Jones Family, I haven't had much time to see him..."
Caspar complained. Before he could finish speaking, Ryan's voice came outside the door. Arya smiled, "Look, Ryan is here."
