As a woman, the secretary knew her current pressure very well.
The secretary arranged the things and the documents neatly. "Call me if you need anything."
Then she left the office. The room instantly quieted down.
She breathed hard, suppressed all the fear and uneasiness, and picked up a document to read...
Perhaps being devoted to something could make people forget all worries for a while. Time seemed to pass faster, and a day had passed unconsciously.
Jacob came to pick up Arya when she got off work.
The Deputy drove the car. Jacob was in the passenger seat, and Arya was in the back seat.
She looked very calm as if the person who couldn't control her temper during the day wasn't her at all.
Jacob looked at her in the rear-view mirror.
She disguised herself so well that Jacob could not tell her current emotions and thoughts.
Through the neon lights, the car drove into a more prosperous and lively area.
Soon the car stopped in front of a Chinese food restaurant. Jacob secretly found out that Liam would eat here tonight.
Jacob asked Arya to wait inside the car and he went in to have a look.
Arya agreed softly and leaned against the window, looking out of the window absent-mindedly.
After a while, Jacob came over and Arya rolled down the car window. He whispered to Arya, "He's inside. Rufus is there too."
Arya was not surprised. If Rufus had no one to help him now, he couldn't do anything big.
Arya pushed open the door and came down. "Let's go in."
Jacob and the Deputy followed behind her.
"He won't see us. Someone is guarding the door of the box. We can't get in." Jacob whispered.
Arya looked back at him. Was it that easy to see a gang leader?
Of course, she knew it wasn't. but she had bargaining chips.
