"No way," Jacob spoke out.
Arya looked at him and patiently said, "What I just told you? It's all in vain, right?"
Jacob understood what Arya said, but it was uncertain of Xavier's fate. If anything happened to Arya, how could he explain it to the Jones Family?
Arya pushed the door open and got out of the car. Jacob still wanted to speak. Arya warned coldly, "If you're like this, I don't need you to do anything for me in the future."
"I'm the driver. I can..."
"No." The deputy was rejected before he could finish his sentence.
Arya took a breath, "Wait for me here."
"But..."
"Enough." Arya's face completely turned gloomy.
Seeing Arya leaving, Jacob squatted down and grabbed his hair with both hands.
The Deputy sighed, "Don't worry too much. We should trust her."
Jacob looked up at the deputy, "We're different. You won't understand."
Xavier saved him. Arya was the one Xavier cared about. What if...
He couldn't explain it to Xavier.
He also knew that he had changed recently. He was always worried and afraid that...
He had become someone he doesn't know.
But he had no choice.
He was too stressed.
The Deputy squatted beside Jacob, "Before Mr. Porter died, he told me to take good care of Miss Harrison. I'm as stressed as you are..."
"I recognize that Miss Harrison... is very opinionated. If we try our best to cooperate with her, maybe the situation will be better."
Jacob rubbed his face. That was all he could do now.
On the other side, Arya followed Liam's bodyguard into the house.
It looked ordinary outside the house, but it was unusual inside, with a rockery garden, lush green trees, and a cobblestone paved path, in front of which is a wooden house with red lanterns hanging under the eaves.
Stepping on the stairs, the bodyguard pushed the door open from the front and guarded the doorway. Liam walked in, and Bella looked back at Arya, "Follow me in."
Arya walked in.
The house was not very big and didn't look like a gangster's residence. Bella looked back at her, "Do you ever see that a boss only has one residence?"
Bella's words were straightforward, so Arya understood that this place was just one of Liam's many residences.
There was a cushion on the sandalwood row chair. Liam sat down and stretched his hands, then put his arms on the backrest and looked at Arya, "Please sit down."
Arya sat down in the chair opposite him. Bella stood at the table beside him, "What would Miss Harrison like to drink?"
"I'm not thirsty."
"Are you afraid that we will poison you?" Bella joked.
"Don't scare our guest." Liam smiled and ordered, "Make a pot of black tea. Mrs. Jones must like it."
"OK," Bella said with a smile.
Soon, she brought the brewed black tea and poured a glass of tea for Liam. It was crystal red and could be seen that it was top-grade black tea.
Then Bella poured Arya a cup of tea and handed it to her.
As Arya reached out, Bella warned, "The tea is hot. Be careful."
Arya looked at her and said, "Thank you."
