If Bridget was really heartless, she wouldn't have been so worried and stayed out alone till midnight.
He could tell that she was upset about Edward's marriage.
"If she really had a little affection for me, she wouldn't refuse me. As long as she agreed to stay, it proved that she accepted me, and I had reason to persuade my parents. But she just wouldn't do it." Edward's head drooped in frustration.
Jacob couldn't bear to see Edward misunderstand Bridget, "Do you have any idea what happened to her? You want her to stay abroad? Is that possible?"
Jacob moved his lips. If it were someone else, he wouldn't even bother to say a word.
Edward looked up and stared, "What do you mean? What happened to Bridget?"
Jacob's eyes became sophisticated and his adam's apple moved up and down.
Edward grabbed Jacob's collar and asked excitedly, "What happened to Bridget? Tell me!"
Jacob's mind was in a daze, angered by Edward's excessive behavior, and he pushed him away, "Something happened to Xavier. Nobody knows whether he's alive or dead. How could Bridget stay abroad with you with such a mess at home to be cleaned up?"
Edward took a step back in disbelief.
He frowned and thought carefully about what Bridget had said that day. He was so disappointed and excited that he interrupted her.
Was that what she was going to say?
Edward didn't know what to do for a moment.
Jacob looked at him with pity. In fact, he had one chance, but he missed it.
They all saw what he had done for Bridget over the years.
It was a pity to miss their cue.
Jacob patted him on the shoulder. "You're just not meant to be."
Edward's eyes were red. Not meant to be?
If so, why did God arrange for them to meet?
Edward was gloomy. "I want to see her."
Jacob glanced at him, "Don't you know the way to the Jones Family?"
"I just want you to go with me."
Jacob could see that he was struggling and could not help but sigh, "Why do you have to go there? You're already married. It's meaningless. Is possible for you to get divorced and be with her?"
Edward was speechless.
The divorce must have hurt Demi. She was so kind...
Jacob seemed to see his entanglement, "Since it's impossible, just leave her alone."
Jacob turned around and left.
Edward stood there, feeling extremely depressed. He couldn't figure out why things had come to this stage.
It was strange.
It was weird.
Everything that was out of his control just happened unprepared.
He squatted on the ground with his head in his arms and asked himself over and over again: Why did it become like this?
When Arya and Jacob walked out of the company, Edward was standing at the door.
His grim face looked even paler than when he came.
Arya turned to look at Jacob. "What did you say to him?"
Jacob raised his eyebrows, "He deserves it."
Arya sighed. Thinking that there was an argument between Jacob and Edward, she didn't ask any more questions. "You're good friends."
Arya's words seemed to remind Jacob that no matter what happened, they had to be tolerant and understanding of each other. After all, they had been friends for many years.
Jacob glanced at Edward, "Let's go."
Jacob really wanted to cuss him. Edward's situation had a lot to do with his temperament.
Arya was in the car driven by the deputy. Jacob and Edward drove another car and followed them to the Old Residence.
Bridget took Ryan to play in the park. When they passed the park, Arya saw them and asked the deputy to park the car on the curb. Arya pushed the door open and got out of the car, walking towards them.
"Mommy", Ryan saw her first and rushed at her.
