Chapter 121
30 minutes later, Ariana was working on her thesis at the Lodge residence. Wearing black–rimmed glasses, searched intently for information on her computer.
She had fallen behind academically after being away for months. Though she had three years of practical experience from her previous life, she still needed to study in a serious, methodical way.
she
She would never make the same foolish mistake of dropping out for a man again, as she had in her previous life, naively thinking she’d found her happy ending. It was ridiculous.
Right when Ariana was typing away at her paper, the door suddenly opened. A strong smell of alcohol wafted in. Ariana frowned and quickly closed her laptop.
Brian noticed her closing the computer and asked, “What were you doing?”
“What I’m doing has nothing to do with you, Mr. Lodge,” she said indifferently. “This is my room. inappropriate for you to barge in like this?”
“This is my house. I can go wherever I want.”
Suddenly, Brian walked toward her.
Ariana caught the smell of alcohol on him and wrinkled her brow. “Brian, what are you doing?”
Isn’t it a bit
Brian didn’t miss the look of disgust in her eyes. It was that same look she’d been giving him ever since the engagement party. He found it infuriating..
He grabbed her arm and said, “You’re my fiancée! Anything I do with you is perfectly justified! What do you think I want?”
“You’re drunk!”
Ariana tried to pull away, but he scooped her up in his arms
“Put me down!” Ariana’s face darkened.
“No.”
“Will you let go or not?”
“I said no!”
Brian stubbornly carried her to the bed. Ariana wasn’t having it. She bit down hard on his shoulder.
He hissed in pain and had to loosen his hold. He sucked in a breath and yelled, “Ariana! Are you a dog? How dare you bite me!”
“You come barging into my room drunk and throwing a tantrum. You deserve worse than that!” Ariana snapped. If you’re here to punish me because of Evelyn, or if you want me to go easy on her two friends, you can forget it. I’m going to make sure they both end up in jail!!
Brian’s face darkened at her words.
“You really think that’s why I came?”
“Isn’t it?” Ariana asked with a frown.
