Chapter 190
Since when did Ariana need someone with gastritis to teacher how to eat?
“At night, you can eat less, but you can’t skip it entirely. Two meals a day is unhealthy. From now on, whenever I have dinner, you should too,” Brian said,
“Brian, I’m really not used to eating dinner. You’re making things difficult,” Ariana retorted.
He coolly answered, “If you eat dinner every night on schedule, I’ll pay you one million dollars a day.”
Ariana almost thought she misheard him. A million a day? Was he out of his mind?
Brian noticed her skeptical look and frowned. “Is that not enough?”
“How about two million?” Ariana asked, testing the water.
She looked up to gauge his reaction. She could tell it was too much.
“Alright, one million it is,” she conceded.
“Skip dinner even once, and I’ll deduct two million. If you eat properly every night for a month, you’ll have a guaranteed 30 million.”
With that, Brian started eating. He preferred mild flavors, and he was extremely picky about food. Very few dishes satisfied him.
In the past, Ariana had spent a huge amount of time trying new recipes to suit his palate.
Watching him now, she suddenly wondered if he used to feign pickiness just to torment her. “Is it good?”
“I don’t care whether the food is good or bad. As long as it’s edible, I’ll eat it.”
Hearing this, Ariana set her cutlery down with a scowl “So, you asked me to make those specific dishes just to make things difficult for me?”
“What?”
Brian hadn’t yet caught on, but then remembered how he once tried to make things hard for Ariana so she would back out.
He insisted the fish had no bones. The stewed meat had to be not too soft and not too tough. Each dish had to be intricately cut and artfully plated. Otherwise, he refused to eat.
It was originally meant to make things difficult for Ariana, but she ended up meeting his demands. Over time, her cooking even began to suit his taste.
Brian kept his face blank. “I’m just forcing myself to eat these tonight. If you were the one cooking for me…”
“Keep dreaming!” Ariana snapped.
As she ate, she said, “I’m never cooking for you again.”
Back then, she had learned how to carve everything, even slicing her fingers multiple times. It turned out Brian had been playing her for a fool.
Thinking of this, her resentment toward him grew even stronger.
Ariana took a few small bites of food and then set down her cutlery. “I’m full.”
