Chapter 288
Chapter 288
Victor’s comment left Simon confused.
Victor was in love with Evelyn? Where on earth did Ariana get that idea?
Victor didn’t quite understand either. But the confidence in Ariana had left him with a sense of doubt.
Back when he was overseas, he heard rumors that Brian treted Evelyn differently. Out of curiosity, he had paid her some attention. However, when he finally met Evelyn, he found her rather ordinary.
On the other hand, Ariana had caught his attention immediately. From the first moment he saw her, he had sensed her mischievous and clever nature and was unconsciously drawn to her.
Still, he couldn’t figure out how Ariana had concluded that he was madly in love with Evelyn.
“Don’t overthink it. Hunter investigated Ariana’s background. She’s lived in Gleaston all her life. Her perspective isn’t very broad,” Simon reassured him.
Simon picked up a glass to pour himself a drink. But in the next second, Victor snatched the glass from his hand.
“What are you doing?” Simon was startled.
“She used it,” Victor growled.
Simon sighed.
The sky outside was brightening. Ariana didn’t know when she had fallen asleep. But it was already noon when she woke up.
The sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a soft glow on her face. Slowly, she sat up, rubbing her aching head.
Victor had warned her last night that she would have a headache today, and it turned out he was right.
A knock came on the door.
“Come in,” Ariana called.
Hunter entered the room. Seeing Ariana still on the bed, hesaid, “Ms. Torrey, lunch is ready.”
“Got it,” she replied.
After freshening up, Ariana went downstairs.
In the living room, Victor and Simon were already seated. On the dining table were a few simple dishes.
Victor didn’t seem to like greasy food. There was some meat–based food, but nothing too extravagant. It was mostly bread.
In contrast, Ariana and Simon’s plates looked richer.
“Come.” Simon waved her over.
Ariana took her seat across from Victor.
The first dish was some mushrooms and vegetables. Ariana liked it. The second was shrimp, also quite to her taste. The third dish was scrambled eggs with tomatoes. And the fourth was a soup.
All of it was delicious.

Seeing how much Ariana was enjoying the food, Simon asked, “Seriously? A spoiled rich girl like you is enjoying food like this?”
