Chapter 367
Not far away, Flona and a few of her roommates were ready to leave campus. Flona’s expression instantly crumpled when she saw Gwen at the entrance.
“Fiona! How dare you avoid my calls?” Gwen, who was on edge, immediately dragged Fiona out of the grounds.
“Aunt Gwen, I didn’t mean to! My phone was on silent mode!” Fiona looked pitiful. Meanwhile, her roommates were surprised at Gwen’s outburst.
But Gwen didn’t care for the explanation. She grabbed tightly onto Fiona’s arm and said, “You didn’t pick up all my calls. Did you forget about your family after you’ve made it big through the Lodge family?
“Remember–I bought the phone for you, and I got you into Glea College by pulling some strings! I was the one who gave you a chance to get closer to the Lodge family. Without me, you’d probably still be farming in the countryside! You wouldn’t have had the chance to be in the city!”
“Aunt Gwen, I was wrong! I will never do that again!” Fiona’s face paled. She didn’t want her roommates to see her in such a pathetic state.
“Madam, Fifi’s phone was really in silent mode. She didn’t shun you on purpose.
“Right. How could you treat Fifi like this? She’s the future Mrs. Lodge, you know.”
Everyone in their social circle knew that Gwen had tried to use her daughter for personal gain. In the past, Gwen had used her beauty to seduce Carson Torrey, but after Carson passed away, she immediately sold Ariana out in the hopes that Igor could take over Torrey Co.
Gwen’s reputation was unsalvageable in society. No one would have taken her seriously if it hadn’t been for Ariana and Brian’s previous engagement.
“The future Mrs. Lodge? Without me, Fiona would never have a shot at it.” Gwen smirked.
Then, she glared at Fiona. “I knew you had it in you. But why didn’t you tell me that you’ve won Brian over? Go to the Lodges now and get me two million dollars!”
“What?” Fiona froze upon hearing the astronomical sum. Did she hear it right? Two million dollars? The Lodge family would never offer her that amount of money.
“I thought you were the future Mrs. Lodge. You wouldn’t have had a chance to know Brian if it weren’t for me. Do not forget my favor–you owe me one!”
Gwen had been spamming Belinda for days, but the latter hadn’t picked up.
