Chapter 386
“Let go,” Brian said coldly, his eyes void of warmth.
When Evelyn saw his icy stare, she went stiff.
As Brian walked off, she caught up to him again. “Fine, you don’t like me. That’s okay. But you have to help me with my graduation.”
Brian frowned.
“I can’t be expelled. You promised Neil that you would always help me. If I’m expelled, everyone will look down. on me. Brian, we grew up together. Even if you don’t care about our childhood friendship, you should remember the promise you made to Neil.”
Evelyn glared at Brian stubbornly. Even if he didn’t love her he still had to handle this problem. She didn’t want to become a laughingstock in Gleaston.
Looking at Evelyn, Brian felt that the woman in front of him was a stranger. He said nothing and walked away.
“Brian! You promised Neil you would look after me forever. You said you wouldn’t let anyone bully me! Brian!”
Hearing the woman shouting behind him, Brian said nothing at all.
Indeed, he had made that promise. Even if he didn’t want to, he had to keep his word to Neil.
Emily walked up to Brian and asked, “Mr. Lodge, should we talk to the disciplinary committee? If Ms. Granger really gets expelled, she won’t be able to hold her head up in Gleaston ”
“Go talk to them.”
Brian felt a pounding headache. He hoped this would be the last time he had to clean up Evelyn’s mess.
“Understood.”
Emily quickly called the disciplinary committee and spoke with them before she returned to Brian. The disciplinary committee wasn’t like Christopher. This time, Brian might have to deal with them himself.
Meanwhile, Ariana walked out of the dean’s office and saw Selena waiting outside the building.
When Selena saw Ariana come out, she ran up and grabbed her arm. “How did it go? Is it all settled?”
“I think so.”
The disciplinary committee had shown up, so there was no way Evelyn and those student union members could avoid expulsion.
Selena breathed a sigh of relief. “I thought Evelyn was so capable, but I guess not. Even if Mr. Lodge wants to help her, he won’t be able to save her now.”
Then, Selena looked up and said, “By the way, I just saw Brian and Emily heading into the building. Did you see him?”
“Yes.”
“So, he was here because of Evelyn?”
“Who else would it be for?”
