Igor looked terrified after hearing the loan shark’s words. “Mom! What are they talking about? Are you in debt? Do you owe them 90 million dollars?” 

Gwen hadn’t wanted Igor to find out about her being riddled with debt. But now that the loan sharks had even trespassed into their home, Gwen could only grit her teethand say, “Igor, go get the money I’ve given you for your future wedding. Hurry!” 

“Mom, what are you saying? That’s the money that you gave me! Didn’t you say that I could use that money to buy a house in the future after I got married? How can you just take it away from me?” 

Igor turned his anger on Gwen. Seeing that her son still had not fully grasped the gravity of the situation, Gwen slapped Igor hard across the face. “Do you want money or do you want to live?” Gwen asked angrily. “Listen to me. Go and get the money now!” 

Ever since Gwen married Carson, she gave a set amount of money to Igor on a yearly basis. It had been over a decade since then, there must be over 30 million dollars sayed up already. 

It wasn’t enough to pay off the entire debt, but 30 million should be enough to buy her more time. 

Igor looked up at the group of menacing people around them. He knew he was no match for them, so he had no choice but to go upstairs to get his debit card. 

The loan sharks looked at the debit card in Igor’s hand. Their leader, who went by the name Jeremy Lorenz, said, See, you do have money! And here you were trying to pretend that you’re poor. Stupid bitch, you still owe us 40 million dollars! If you don’t cough it up right now, I’ll break your son’s legs right in front of your eyes!” 

“Didn’t I already give you 30 million dollars? Together with this 30 million, that’s already 60 million dollars! 1 really don’t have any more money! Please tell your boss to give me three days. Just three more days, and I’ll collect all the money I need to return the last 40 million dollars!” Owen begged with the utmost sincerity. 

She had already sold off most of her belongings. It had been a long time since she’d had any money on her. She even gave them the money that was supposed to be for Igor when he got married. Gwen was truly penniless. 

“We’ve already given you more than enough time. You still want another three days on top of that? If you insist on letting us wait another three days, your debt won’t just be 40 million dollars, it’ll go up to 50 million dollars!” 

Seeing how unreasonable Jeremy was, Igor couldn’t help but want to teach a lesson to the other man. Igor raised his fist and tried to strike Jeremy. But how could a fist compare to a wooden club? In the next second, Jeremy’s lackey had darted out from behind him and smacked Igor with his club. 

The blow was incredibly heavy, as if the man had a personal grudge against Igor. Igor collapsed after being struck and stayed unmoving on the floor. 

“You little fucker, you thought you could get the jump on me?” Jeremy sneered at Igor who was crumpled on the 

floor. 

Gwen went into full–blown panic mode after watching Igor getting struck down. “L… I still have another five. million dollars! I still have some jewelry in the safe too, along with a deed to one of the Torrey’s properties! Everything should accumulate to around 40 million dollars, I’ll give you everything! I’ll give you everything right 

now!”
