Belinda looked at Ariana and said, “Feel free to cook anything, Ariana. I’m heading out now since I have something to do.” 

She stood after saying that and made sure to shoot a look at Brian before leaving. 

Soon enough, Ariana and Brian were the only two people left in the Lodge residence’s massive dining room. 

There wasn’t even a hint of respect in Brian’s gaze as it swept past Ariana. “Well? Why are you still standing around? Shouldn’t you get in the kitchen and cook?” 

“Nobody’s home now. So, why bother carrying on the act, Mr. Lodge?” Ariana met Brian’s eyes and added, “Get some food delivered if you’re hungry.” 

“How dare you –“Brian wanted to retort, but Ariana had already left. She went into the kitchen, washed her hands, and was about to cook something. 

Upon seeing that, he snorted. “What’s this? You told me to get food delivered if I’m hungry, while you’re only cooking a meal for yourself? If you really want to leave that badly, why don’t you take this chance to flee since Grandma’s not home?” 

“Am I the fool here or are you the stupid one, Mr. Lodge? Ariana spoke monotonously. “Mrs. Lodge Senior is clearly forcing us to stay home because she wants us to get closer to one another. Why would she let me leave the Lodge residence? 

“I’m pretty sure the front door has been locked from the outside by now. I doubt there’s any way of opening it.” 

Brian was slightly dubious as he approached the front door. Alas, he exerted all his force to open the door, but it didn’t budge. Someone had indeed locked it from the outside. 

Ariana grabbed some ingredients from the fridge after washing her hands. “Perhaps someone might be able to open the door for you if you order food delivery now, Mr. Lodge.” 

Brian fished out his phone and was about to order food when he realized he had no cell signal. Someone had disconnected the Internet and cell coverage at some point. The situation caused Brian’s face to darken like coal. 

Ariana noticed Brian’s expression but leisurely revealed, “I only know how to prepare one serving of food. You’ll have to cook for yourself if you’re hungry.” 

“Are you joking?” Brian snarled, his brows furrowed. 

Belinda had also told the housekeepers to stay out of the residence. Because of that, Brian couldn’t get anyone else to cook for him. 

Ariana hummed a cheery tune as she made an omelet. A mouthwatering aroma soon wafted over from the kitchen. 

Brian was sitting in the dining room but quickly became entranced by the scent. “What are you making?” 

“Are you talking about this dish, Mr. Lodge?” Ariana pointed at the golden, fluffy omelet on her plate. “It’s just an omelet.” 

“Why didn’t you make this dish before?” 

“Mr. Lodge, you’ve had all the delicacies in the world. Why would you like such an ordinary dish?” While saying that, Ariana picked up her plate. 

She continued, “Besides, I made this for myself, I doubt such simple food would be to your liking, right?”
