Upon hearing this, Gwen’s eyes widened. “Ariana! What do you mean by that?” 

Everyone turned to look at Ariana. 

Seeing this, John stepped forward and said, “Ms. Torrey, you’re still young. Mrs. Torrey is only trying to look out for the company’s best interests.” 

Before John could finish, Ariana cut him off. “Mr. Wagner, of all people in this room, you’re the last one who should be defending her.” 

“Ms. Torrey, what… What do you mean by that?” John asked, clearly confused. 

Ariana smiled coldly. “I understand that family matters should remain private, and I had originally intended to tolerate this for Ms. Lambert’s sake. But you’ve all become so shameless, taking advantage of my patience. And now, you have the audacity to demand the company from me?” 

“Ariana! You’re going too far!” Gwen protested, but Ariana merely gave Anna a subtle look. 

Anna tapped a few keys on the computer, and the office surveillance footage appeared on the screen. 

The footage revealed John and Gwen in the midst of a passionate, secret affair at the office desk. 

Everyone in the room was visibly shocked. 

Many of the employees present had been loyal to Carson, and seeing the widow of their former boss behave so inappropriately with another man, their faces reflected expressions of disgust. 

The affair between Gwen and John had been an open secret within the company for some time. 

While most employees were aware of it, the higher–ups had remained in the dark.

“Actions have consequences, Ms. Lambert. My father never did anything to wrong you. If you wanted a divorce and to stop being Mrs. Torrey, all you had to do was ask. There was no need for this despicable behavior.” 

Ariana’s voice was cold. 

Gwen’s face turned ashen, and John was so terrified that he nearly crumpled to his knees. “Ms. Torrey! Ms. Torrey, it was just a momentary lapse in judgment! A brief mistake!” 

“A momentary lapse? Your scandal has already become an open secret in the company. I’ve turned a blind eye until now, out of respect for the past, but Ms. Lambert, you are no longer fit to manage this company.” 

Turning to the shareholders and executives gathered around, Ariana asked, “What do the rest of you think?” 

One of the directors, a close friend of Carson, took a deep breath before speaking. “Mrs. Torrey, I believe it’s best for you to step down from managing the company.” 

“Since the company belongs to Ms. Torrey, Mrs. Torrey has no right to interfere!” 

“Exactly! Not only should Mrs. Torrey step down, but Mr. Wagner should be fired as well!” 

The room erupted in a chorus of disapproval. 

Ariana had already received the answer she needed. She turned to John, who was on the verge of collapsing, and said, “Mr. Wagner, this is the consensus. I expect your resignation letter on my desk by tomorrow morning. If we
