After much discussion, Li Zi-Yang and the rest decided to escape from the military that very night.
They decided to head towards Yunzhou to look for Ye Fan.
The team was strongly attached to Ye Fan as the Green Dragon Force was established by him.
Chen Lan and the military camp had forsaken them first, and it was them who had forced the Green Dragon Force members to rebel!
But to their surprise, Tai Shan refused to participate in their plan.
"Tai Shan, are you out of your mind? You want to stay on despite how Chen Lan has been treating us? Have you forgotten how he treated you today? If it wasn't for the timely intervention by Colonel Wang Dong-Sheng, you would have died at the hands of Chen Lan today."
"Besides, didn't you say you miss Instructor Chu? Then why aren't you coming along with us when we are going to look for Instruction Chu? Has your brain been kicked by a donkey?" Li Zi-Yang couldn't help but scold Tai Shan when he was rejected. He had expected Tai Shan to agree to their escape plan.
Tai Shan was quiet throughout Li Zi-Yang's scolding.
Tai Shan said as he turned his back towards the rest of them, "You don't have to persuade me anymore, I have made up my mind. The rest of you can go ahead, I will stay behind. If you manage to find Instructor Chu, please send my regards to him."
After he had said this, Tai Shan closed his eyes and pulled the blanket over his head to sleep.
"You..."
"You are really hopeless!"
"Alright, you can stay behind and wait for your death since that is what you want."
"Captain, let's go. We need to head back and get ourselves prepared."
When Li Zi-Yang and the rest saw how determined Tai Shan was in his decision, they decided to leave him alone.
The four of them headed back to their dormitories to prepare for their escape.
After a check by the doctor, Ye Yu-Yan's leg had not been broken but had only been dislocated. So while there was still some pain after moving the bone back into position, she didn't really have any mobility issues.
As soon as they had left, the crowded hospital ward became very quiet with Tai Shan left all alone.
Tai Shan opened his eyes when he was sure that Li Zi-Yang and the rest were gone.
He was a big-built and tough looking man, but tears started to well up in Tai Shan's eyes as he watched his comrades leave from his window.
Did he really not want to leave with them?
Did he not want to escape from this place and look for Instructor Chu?
Of course not!
He had the same strong desire to leave this place as the rest of the Green Dragon Force members.
But he had decided to stay when Li Zi-Yang posed the question to him earlier.
His reason was simple. He could not even walk with his current injuries, let alone try to escape from the heavily guarded military camp.
He would only be a burden to the rest of the Green Dragon Force members in their escape plan!
It was likely that their escape plan would fail because of him.
It was this reason that made Tai Shan determined to stay even if it meant that he was the only one left.
He would not be a burden to his comrades!
