"Quick! Let's not waste any more time and hurry up!" Ye Yu-Yan's anxious voice sounded in their ears.
Li Zi-Yang and the others nodded.
They held their breaths, stomped their feet heavily on the ground and with a hard thrust, leapt into the air.
They were like birds soaring in the dark night as they leaped over towering walls and made their way out of the Jiangdong military camp.
"We're finally out! We're free!" Li Zi-Yang and the others appeared visibly moved as they stepped foot on the soil outside of the military camp. They were in the land of the free now.
They had never realized how precious freedom truly was.
"That's right, we're finally out of that hell hole." Ye Yu-Yan turned, glanced at the tall walls of the military camp, and burst out into a laugh. "We're not out of danger yet. We have to get as far as we can from this place before they realize that we're gone!"
After a moment of respite, Ye Yu-Yan and her teammates got ready to be on their way and leave this place.
"Leave? Do you really think you can get out of here?" A mirthless laugh rang out and reverberated in the night.
Bright lights erupted from within the military camp.
The blinding lights spilled across the night sky and, like numerous suns rising into the sky, colored the night as bright as day!
It was then that Ye Yu-Yan and her teammates realized that what they had thought had been utter darkness had been in fact dark masses of soldiers gathered together.
Thousands of soldiers had had them surrounded all along.
They were akin to floodwaters that had swept away all roads to escape, leaving the Green Dragon Force with nowhere to
run.
Standing at their helm was the newly appointed chief military instructor of the Jiangdong military camp, Chen Lan.
"It's you!”
The Green Dragon Force was startled when they saw the man. Their pupils contracted with wariness.
"This is impossible. How did you know we were leaving?"
Despair threatened to swallow them whole as they surveyed the masses of soldiers surrounding them.
They knew then that their plan had failed.
If their only opponent were Chen Lan and Chen Lan alone, a few of them might stand the chance of escaping.
But they were now trapped by a full battalion.
The Green Dragon Force had no chances of escape at all.
They felt rage and helplessness drowning them from the inside.
They had made it out of the campsite itself.
They had been one step away from making a successful escape.
Why had the gods thwarted their success at the very last moment?
Waves of despair, rage and helplessness swelled inside them and threatened to pull them under like a tsunami.
Eyes reddening with anger, Li Zi-Yang began to growl at Chen Lan.
Chen Lan merely smiled at them smugly.
"You're just a bunch of trash. Do you really think you can fool me? You really think you can slip through my fingers? I knew exactly what you were up to and had planned for it right from the start. My men were watching your every move and have hacked your phones to monitor your communications. I knew every single thing that you were up to. There was no way you could have escaped at all. You're all brats who are too young and inexperienced to know who you're dealing with," laughed Chen Lan as he openly mocked the Green Dragon Force.
