Tang Yun vowed she would not let herself be swayed by emotions again. Prevailed by the determination triggered by despair, she left and was back to the Chu residence again.
As for Ye Fan, he never stepped into the place again. Nobody was aware of his absolute despair and boiling rage at the moment. It never occurred to him that he could be so lowly and worthless in Tang Yun's eyes.
A frog in the well that knows nothing of the sea? Shooting myself in the foot? Every single word from her turned into a dagger that pierced through his heart deeply, one by one. The excruciating pain was almost unbearable for him.
He used to give no hoots to others who looked down on him. To him, they had nothing to do with him. Why be bothered with what they think of me?
However, Tang Yun was different from them. After all, she was the woman Ye Fan had really cared about before. He had even thought of letting her bear his children. Needless to say, she had given him such a massive hit with her oppressive mockery earlier on.
By the way, it was undeniable that everything was his wishful thinking. Nobody was supposed to provoke the authoritative head of the Chu Sect. Even if we had an intimacy before, will such an arrogant woman bear my child willingly? Apparently, I'm the one having wishful thinking. Anyway, it saves the trouble in a way.
Ye Fan had never foreseen that things to turn out to that extent. But at least, he would not hesitate in battling if the mighty fighters of the Chu Sect intervened in his battle with the Chu family.
The hint of coldness on Ye Fan's face became more intense as he sank into deep thought.
Moments later, he climbed up the small hill nearby via the treacherous path.
Standing on top of the hill, he looked up to the sky and thundered out, “The Dragon Slayers, show up now!”
His ear-piercing bellow reverberated in the air, swirlingthe strong wind and scaring off the birds among the trees.
In a split second, the peaceful scene turned into turmoil. It was as though a boiling kettle was screeching.
In the twinkling of an eye, four figures emerged from nowhere as summoned and knelt in front of him. They turned out to be the Four Dragon Slayers bowing to him all this while.
“Master, three days have elapsed. It's time to set off,” Gaius reminded him respectfully.
The other three Dragon Slayers also fastened their gazes at Ye Fan with flickering determination in their eyes.
Not only Ye Fan, but Gaius, and the others had been looking forward to the battle with the Chu family. They had waited for it for ages and could barely wait any longer to accompany Ye Fan in seeking his foes out for payback.
Nonetheless, Ye Fan only waved his hand before responding solemnly, “My Dragon Slayers, there's one thing that I must be frank with all of you. There's a big possibility that the mighty fighters from the Chu Sect will intervene in our battle with the Chu family. In other words, this is not solely the battle with the Chu family. At the same time, we might have to fight against the Chu Sect, too. The risk had come to my mind previously, but I didn't think much at that time. I used to have a hunch that chances of the Chu Sect stepping in were slim. However, I have no choice but
to think of a way in eliminating the risk now.”
Gaius and the others' hearts sank instantaneously.
“Master, do you mean to say that Tang Yun, the head of the Chu Sect, will join the battle too? But aren't you closely acquainted with her? Can you try to talk it through with her so the Chu Sect won't step in?” Gaius suggested warily.
Even so, Ye Fan knitted his brows the moment he heard about Tang Yun's name. “Enough of that! Don't ever mention her name in front of me again! From now onwards, I have no truck with her!”
Intimidated by his authoritative tone, Gaius and the others were scared stiff and did not dare to refute with any words.
Standing on the top of the hill with his hands behind his back, Ye Fan added solemnly, “Anyway, you don't have to worry too much. Even if the Chu Sect steps in, we can't jump to a conclusion about who will turn out to be the final winner. But before we declare war against them, I need to upgrade your combat prowess to your optimum stage. Thus, there will be a three-month-long intensive training for all of you. I'll teach you the Comprehensive Array Attack within these three months. As long as you can master this skill, the possibility for us to gain victory against them will be doubled. Do you get it?"
