Louis says coldly, "I don't want it anymore. You can sell it."
The manager is stunned. She thinks that she heard wrongly. "Mr. Smith, are you sure you don't want this pink diamond ring?"
"Yes. Is there anything else?"
"Alright." When the manager detects the change of tone, she gets uneasy and says, "Mr. Smith, the deposit will be refunded in three to five..."
A beep comes.
Before she can finish speaking, the phone is hung up.
The manager remains dumbstruck for a long time. She can't figure out why he asked them to help him pick out a pink diamond a few months ago. He was willing to pay a serious sum. But why does he just say no now?
The manager puts away the phone and goes back to them. "Sorry to have kept you waiting. The customer said that he didn't want this ring anymore. You can just buy it at the normal price."
"He didn't want it anymore?" John is slightly surprised, but he flashes a smile and says, "Alright, take my card."
After a thirty-minute procedure, he finally gets the pink diamond.
Lily comes out of the shop with such a big pink diamond. "In broad daylight, this pink diamond is very eye-catching. Maybe I should put it away now and take it out on the engagement day."
"Don't. Just wear it." John holds her hand and says, "Let all the women take a look. Let them envy you for having such a good husband buying you this big pink diamond."
Lily smiles and glares at him. "You're so childish!"
After they arrive at the supermarket, Lily receives a phone call from Chandler.
Chandler complains to her that Chloe always makes fun of him and asks Lily when she will be back because he misses her cooking.
Looking at Louis pushing the cart and picking food, Lily changes her mind and says, "In a few days. You can go to Chloe's place for meals. When I get back, I'll make you all kinds of delicious dishes."
Chandler won't feel lonely if with Chloe. Lily wants to stay with John for longer.
"Alright. Lily, you're pregnant. You should rest more!" Chandler says unhappily.
"Got it."
Right after Chandler hangs up, Chloe, who was holding her breath, rushes over and asks him expectantly, "How is it? Did Lily say when she will be back?"
Chandler glances at her and says, "Chloe, do you think you're more important to her than her fiancé?"
"What are you talking about, Chandler!" Chloe pinches his ear and mocks him, "You're the same. You've become a child that no one cares about and comes to my place every day for meals!"
"You are my aunt. Shouldn't you feed me?"
Chloe complains, "You're useless to me. You do nothing but eat!"
Chandler retorts, "Why didn't you call her yourself, bigwig? All you do is complaining. I think you're the useless one!"
"Say it again!"
"Chloe is an idiot! She is picky and spoiled. No one loves her!"
Chloe screams hard and gets up from the sofa to chase after him. "Little brat, don't run if you have the guts!"
"I'm not stupid. Why do I stay still?" He grimaces at her.
She keeps chasing after him in the living room. The noise hurts Betty's ears.
Hearing the doorbell, Betty wipes her hands and goes out to open the door.
"Hey, who are you?" Outside the door stands a middle-aged man. Betty is stunned when she sees him. "Did you knock on the wrong door?"
The man says, "I'm Steven. Mr. Smith sent me here to take care of Miss Chloe."
As he speaks, he hands the contract to Betty.
Betty flips through it and confirms what he said is true. Then she opens the door and invites him in. "It's easy to take good care of Miss Chloe. She's just a little picky. You need to get used to it..."
"Does she need company when she sleeps?"
"She wanted it before, but she's outgrown it." Betty casts a glance at Steven and thinks that Louis told him about this. "Oh, Miss Chloe still needs to take the medicine. Every night, you have to put the medicine in the milk."
