"Alright, I'm done talking." John doesn't dare to say anything after being yelled at by that woman.
When the elevator reaches the first floor, John leads Lily out.
Outside the elevator stands a man. He seems to be taking the elevator. He is tall, but average-looking. There are wrinkles at the corners of his eyes. He looks to be around fifty years old.
When the man looks at Lily, Lily also happens to look at him. He always feels that this man looks very familiar.
When they come out, the man has already stepped into the elevator.
Lily feels it strange somehow and can't help but turn around to look at him again. However, the elevator has already closed.
When John sees her strange behavior, he asks, "What's wrong?"
"Well, nothing." Lily withdraws her gaze and says jokingly, "Did you see that man enter the elevator just now? I was wondering if you would be as strong and handsome as him when you get old."
John doesn't know how much time he has left, and the word "old" has nothing to do with him.
But now, what Lily says unintentionally is triggering a thought in his mind. He wants to live and spend the rest of his life with her.
After Lily realizes she says something wrong, her face turns pale and she holds the man's hand tightly. "My apology! You're much more handsome than that man. You'll...."
The more she wants to explain, the more flustered she becomes, and she doesn't know what to say.
"Alright, I see." John puts the strands of hair on her cheeks behind her ear and smiles gently, "No matter what I look like when I get old, you will still find me attractive, aren't you?"
Lily nods vigorously, "Of course I will! I could look at you all day!"
John leads her out and says with a smile, "No. You'll get tired of me. Do you want to eat hotpot? After picking the ring, let's go to the supermarket and have hotpot tonight."
"Really?" Lily hasn't eaten hotpot for a long time and has a craving for it. "Why do you suddenly allow me to eat hotpot?"
"It's been so long since the injection. It should be fine to have a spicy meal."
....
Lily purses her lips and smiles as she holds the man's hand tightly and leans against his body.
This is the life she yearns for.
With a man who loves and cherishes her a lot, she doesn't have to worry about anything.
They take a car to Cartier store, and a shop assistant comes to receive them.
After learning that they are going to choose their wedding ring, the shop assistant takes out the best-selling rings these years, so that Lily can try them on one by one.
Standing by Lily's side, John frowns. Obviously, he doesn't like any of them.
"The design is not bad, but the diamond looks too small and not bright enough." He asks the shop assistant, "Those are your best?"
Lily looks at the ring on her finger and feels that it's quite good. "It's not light, and it's also pretty. Why don't you buy this one?"
John shakes his head.
Lily rolls her eyes at him and says, "You said I could pick it myself. Why you're shaking your head now?"
"I want you to have the best," John says, "I can afford it anyway."
Lily is lost for words.
When the shop assistant sees that John doesn't like the rings and wants to leave, she suddenly remembers something and carefully asks John, "Actually, there is a pink diamond ring here. Would you like to take a look?"
John is immediately displeased, "Since you have some good stuff, why didn't you take it out earlier?"
The shop assistant smiles apologetically and goes inside to get the ring.
About a minute later, the shop assistant comes out with a ring box in her hand.
After she gently opening the lid of the box, the pink diamond on the black velvet instantly attracts Lily's attention.
"Sir, I'm sorry. This employee is new here, and she didn't know that someone has ordered this pink diamond ring. We will reserve your subscription. If there is another pink diamond, I will inform you immediately."
Hearing this, John gets annoyed.
Pink diamonds with such high cleanliness has a very low yield, and it is unknown when they will get another one again.
But he and Lily are getting married.
Lily is also a little disappointed, but she doesn't say anything and wants to take the ring off.
She really likes the ring, but someone has ordered it and there's nothing she can do.
Besides, the pink diamond is a little heavy. If she loses it at some party, she will be really sad.
"Don't take it off." John holds her hand and says to the manager, "Call that customer and tell him that if he gives up the diamond, I will give him enough money to buy another one."
"Well...." The manager looks somewhat embarrassed. "That customer is a man of high status. He doesn't need money."
John says indifferently, "Just go talk to him first. No one will say no to money. If he refuses, we'll give up the ring then."
Lily leans closer to him and whispers, "Let it go. Let's go to another store."
"Let's just wait for now." John touches the pink diamond on her finger and says gently, "You rarely like something. I won't feel much of a man if I can’t get it for you."
....
Seeing this, the manager has no choice but to call the customer.
"Hello."
A deep male voice comes from the other side.
"Mr. Smith, this is Manager Tracy from Cartier Store. Do you remember that you've ordered a pink diamond ring in our store?" That manager cautiously says.
